In week 14, the big game was a possible Grey Cup matchup and Calgary looked great in beating Montreal 46-21. In the other games Saskatchewan won their third straight beating Toronto 27-16, BC kept their slim playoff hopes alive beating Winnipeg 16-14, and Edmonton won their second straight beating Hamilton 37-35.
Week 15 CFL Preview and Point Spreads
This week’s round of games are match ups of last week’s games, but at different venues.
Edmonton Eskimos at Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Sportsbook has Hamilton as 6-point favorites in this game with a total of 52.
Hamilton is tied with Toronto with 12 points in the East Division and they have lost two in row. In last week’s loss to Edmonton, Hamilton could not contain Tiger-Cats’ QB Ricky Ray, who passed for 384 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT and he also rushed for one TD. The Tiger-Cats committed 2 turnovers and they cannot do that again in this game. Edmonton is playing well and they have won 2 straight even though they still have the fewest points in the West and they have only won one away game all season.
Toronto Argonauts at Saskatchewan Roughriders
Saskatchewan is the big 11.5-point favorite in this game with a total of 49.
Saskatchewan has won three straight and they cemented their playoff spot by sending Toronto to their second straight loss last week. The Argonauts have lost five of their last six games and their offense has really struggled, as they have not scored more than 17 points in a game since the middle of August. For Toronto to have any shot at winning this game they must play better defense on CFL passing leader Darian Durant. In last week’s win Durant was stellar passing for 310 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT and he also rushed for 47 yards with 1 TD. Saskatchewan has yet to lose at home this season.
Sportsbook
Calgary Stampeders at Montreal Alouettes
Montreal is a 3.5-point favorite at Sportsbook in this big match up with a total of 58.
Round two of the possible Grey Cup matches takes place this week and Montreal has to play better defense in this game, as last week they gave up 46 points last week to Calgary. Stampeders’ QB Henry Burris was spectacular passing for 412 yards with 4 TD. The Alouettes threw 2 INT in the game and they have to hold onto the ball and not turn the ball over against a Calgary team that is 4-2 on the road and is playing with a ton of confidence after spanking Montreal last week.
BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Sportsbook has Winnipeg as 3.5-point favorites in this game with a total of 52.
BC had a two-point win over Winnipeg last week in a game that did not see much offense. BC has won two straight while Winnipeg has lost three in a row. BC is a better road team this season, as they are 3-3 away from home. The Blue Bombers have to play good D against Lions’ QB Travis Lulay, who passed for 237 yards last week. Winnipeg QB Steven Jyles was sacked four times last week and the Blue Bombers’ offensive line has to protect him in this game.
