Week 7 CFL Betting Odds

The surprising West-leading Edmonton Eskimos (5-1) look for a return to the win column when they face the defending-champion Montreal Alouettes (4-2) on Thursday night in the marquee CFL matchup for Week 7.

Montreal had lost a pair to Hamilton before upending the uninspired Toronto Argonauts 36-23 last week. The Alouettes easily covered the 4.5-point spread on the road in that contest with the 59 points going OVER the posted total of 52 set by oddsmakers.

Edmonton lost its first of the season last week to the East-leading Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and oddsmakers at Bet365 have them as 6.5-point road underdogs against the Alouettes on Thursday, while the total is sitting at 54.5.

Friday night’s docket has the reeling Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-5) as 3.5-point home underdogs when the 4-2 Calgary Stampeders trot into town for CFL betting action. Oddsmakers opened the total at 49 for this matchup.

The Roughriders fell to the 1-5 BC Lions as a 3-point underdog last week, with the game’s total falling UNDER the posted total of 53.5. Calgary ran over Hamilton last week, easily covering the 4-point spread at home - and the game’s 52 points made it OVER the posted total of 50.5.

Hamilton (3-3) was showing signs of a giant killer earlier, but now they have to bounce back from a Week 6 loss to Calgary. Hamilton had won three straight prior to Week 6, including a victory over Grey Cup winners Montreal. The Tiger-Cats are 7-point home favorites against the 1-5 Toronto Argonauts with the game’s total sitting at 50 for the Saturday evening Battle of Ontario.

Concluding the Week 7 slate of CFL betting action on Saturday is the B.C. Lions at home as a 1.5-point favorite among oddsmakers at Bet365 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who are winners of three straight. The Blue Bombers defeated the Lions 25-20 in their only other meeting this season. B.C. has kept games close, but it hasn’t translated into wins.

CFL bettors should note that Winnipeg has covered the spread in five of six games this season, while the UNDER bettor has capitalized in five of six as well.
