The journey to the 110th Grey Cup has started and sportsbooks have released projected win totals for the nine teams in the Great North.

Below we'll travel from East to West on the Canadian coasts to look at the CFL win totals for this season and give our expert advice on which way your bet should lean. Let's kick off!

CFL Win totals 2023

The season is played over 21 weeks, with each team playing 18 games with three bye weeks. Bookmark our weekly picks to follow along our predictions for each meeting of the year.

Montreal Alouettes Win Total

Montreal Alouettes Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 7.5-105
UNDER 7.5-125

Before falling in the Eastern finals, the Als held a fair 9-9 regular season record. They struggled to get a strong grip, having just one three-game win streak near the end of the year.

There was a massive overhaul in the offseason for Montreal, which went undefeated this preseason. The franchise earned a new owner and head coach, Jason Maas. The most promising addition is signal-caller Cody Fajardo, who was claimed as a free agent from Saskatchewan. The 31-year-old went 7-for-14, tallying up 77 yards and a touchdown in his first game in red and blue. I don't think that showcase does him justice. I'm riding with my team here. Change is a good thing.

Best Bet: Alouettes OVER 7.5 Wins (-105)

Ottawa Redblacks Win Total

Ottawa Redblacks Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 7.5-135
UNDER 7.5+105

Maybe I'm a hater, but this total looks a little generous to me. The Redblacks earned just four wins last season. I know, I know, injuries were to blame with QB Jeremiah Masoli fracturing his leg in Week 4. But, I mean, they didn't win the three games before that either.

Masoli was on pace to return this season but didn't make a single appearance in preseason. Recently, Ottawa has announced he will also miss the opening two games, too. New head coach Bob Dyce is carrying four quarterbacks on his roster. A little strange, kind of worrisome for Redblacks fans.

That uncertainty will loom over this team. The pressure is on for this group to bounce back. I can see them teetering between the 6 to 8 win mark this year. But, I'll take my chances here.

Best Bet: Redblacks UNDER 7.5 Wins

Toronto Argonauts Win Total

Toronto Argonauts Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 9.5-130
UNDER 9.5EVEN

Defending the championship title won't be easy for the Argos, who are without the quarterback who got them there. McLeod Bethel-Thompson has moved on to the USFL, where he leads the passing stats with the New Orleans Breakers.

But Toronto has plenty of top players returning to the field, including RB A.J. Ouellette and Andrew Harris. The Argos also snagged LB Jordan Williams, the 2021 Most Outstanding Rookie, in the offseason.

Will I go as far to say Toronto will pocket back-to-back titles? Definitely not. But, I think it will stay near the top of the standings.

Best Bet: Argonauts OVER 9.5 Wins (EVEN)

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Win Total

Hamilton Tiger-Cats Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 10.5-120
UNDER 10.5-110

After a decade with Calgary, Bo Levi Mitchell has changed colors and is earning his stripes with the Ticats. The 33-year-old is nearing the end of his career and after being plagued by injuries the last few seasons, he'll be looking to end on a high note. The fairytale writing is on the wall.

Hamilton ended last regular season on a four-game hot streak. Add in Mitchell and recent pickup RB James Butler and I think the Ticats will return with that same momentum.

Best Bet: Tiger-Cats OVER 10.5 Wins (-120)

Winnipeg Blue Bombers Win Total

Winnipeg Blue Bombers Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 12.5-130
UNDER 12.5EVEN

I'll keep this short and sweet. If Zach Collaros, back-to-back MOP winner, is still around in Winnipeg, then the Bombers stay a threat.

The Blue Bombers picked up 16 wins last season, going 9-0 in their first nine meetings. They were snubbed of a Grey Cup three-peat after being defeated by a single point. At Collaros' disposal is RB Brady Oliveira, who finished third with over 1,000 rushing yards in 2022, and WR Dalton Schoen, who topped the CFL with 1,441 yards and 16 touchdowns. Winnipeg just won't quit.

Best Bet: Blue Bombers OVER 12.5 Wins (-130)

Saskatchewan Roughriders Win Total

Saskatchewan Roughriders Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 7.5-105
UNDER 7.5-125

I get it, the Roughriders were disappointing last season, finishing with a 6-12 record. Saskatchewan showed efforts to improve its group during the months off, which is a step in the right direction.

QB Trevor Harris will manage the frontlines for the group this season. Harris, who spent last year in Montreal, quietly finished third in the standings with over 4,100 yards and completed 71.6 percent of his attempts. Pretty reliable if you ask me.

The Riders, who also went undefeated in the preseason, will need a little more to prove they're Grey Cup contenders. But, I think eight wins is doable for them.

Best Bet: Roughriders OVER 7.5 Wins (-105)

Edmonton Elks Win Total

Edmonton Elks Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 6.5-125
UNDER 6.5-105

Edmonton looked terrible last season, finishing with a 4-14 record. The Elks, which haven't felt victory in Commonwealth Stadium since 2019, needed a serious boost.

Bringing in WR Eugene Lewis does exactly that. In 2022, Lewis racked up 1,303 yards (ranked third) and 10 touchdowns with the Alouettes. It's the kind of reliability QB Taylor Cornelius needs as he molds into his starting position, that he's fought for after being placed as a fourth stringer in 2022's training camp.

I think the Elks will move forward this season. No drastic predictions here.

Best Bet: Elks OVER 6.5 Wins (-125)

Calgary Stampeders Win Total

Calgary Stampeders Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 9.5-130
UNDER 9.5EVEN

The Stamps looked strong with a 12-6 record last year before eventually falling in the Western Semi-Finals. QB Jake Maier was slowly taking over Bo Levi Mitchell's decade-long spot over the last two seasons.

With Mitchell gone, it's time for Maier to step up completely. He completed a noble 74.7 percent of his throws through 12 games, pocketing nearly 2,400 yards. The 26-year-old has the tools, let's just hope he knows how to use them consistently.

RB Ka'Deem Carey (God, I love that name) is what truly keeps Calgary in top-dog territory. The Arizona product easily topped the league with 1,088 rushing yards and double-digit touchdowns. If Maier is shaky, at least Carey can carry.

Best Bet: Stampeders OVER 9.5 Wins (-130)

B.C. Lions Win Total

B.C. Lions Win Total 2023
WinsOdds
OVER 9.5-130
UNDER 9.5EVEN

I think the Lions will rip through this total. The roster is too stacked in passing areas. In the air we've got WR Dominique Rhymes, Lucky Whitehead and Keon Hatcher, who all finished with over 1,000 yards last season.

I worried record-setting Nathan Rourke, who joined the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, would be too hard to replace -- but Vernon Adams Jr. has slid in smoothly. In his preseason debut, the 30-year-old dominated with 213 yards and three touchdowns just in the first half. If that's the narrative all year, B.C. will hit the OVER easily.

Best Bet: Lions OVER 9.5 Wins (-130)
