Prime-Time NFL Games Impact Team Odds Shark Members in Week 13

The Seattle Seahawks rallied from an early 14-7 deficit to beat the Minnesota Vikings 37-30 in the Week 13 Monday Night Football matchup, covering the spread as 3-point home favorites to help three of the 12 Team Odds Shark members who picked them in the two biggest football handicapping contests in Las Vegas.

Odds Shark’s own Joe Osborne was among those backing the Seahawks in the Circa Sports Million along with Kris Abbott, while Paulo Antunes took them in the Sportsbook SuperContest.

Seattle’s cover kept Antunes from going winless at 1-4 while Osborne went 3-2 to improve to 34-29-2 overall and Abbott was 2-3 to move to 28-36-1. Osborne still leads the team in the Circa Sports Million, followed by Joe Fortenbaugh, who had the Vikings and finished 2-3 to fall to 34-30-1. Pamela Maldonado also went 3-2 in Week 13.

But the New England Patriots really hurt the team in the Golden Nugget’s Ultimate Football Challenge, with three of the four members participating in that Vegas contest picking the Pats as 3-point road favorites visiting the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football. New England lost 28-22 at Houston, and the game was not even that close. Antunes had the Patriots as well while Fortenbaugh and Tony Riccobono both picked the Texans in the Circa Sports Million and SuperContest, respectively.

However, New England kept “Cousin Sal” Iacono from going 5-2 in the Ultimate Football Challenge, as he had to settle for a 4-3 mark in Week 13 after going 6-1 in Week 12. The Szokoli brothers – Brian and Darren – each had the Patriots too and finished at 3-4. Sal had opened Week 13 with a loss on the Atlanta Falcons as 7-point home underdogs against the New Orleans Saints, who won 26-18 on Thanksgiving night.

In addition, Team Odds Shark’s top contestant, Harry Gagnon, struggled to a 2-5 record in the Ultimate Football Challenge, dropping to a season-low tie for 46th out of the 282 total contestants with 52 points (51-38-2). Gagnon’s ‘Cuseboy entry has now alternated losing and winning marks in the last eight weeks with just four remaining and the top 20 getting paid out in the end. Sal is 1.5 points behind him with 50.5 (50-40-1).
