Evil Geniuses Top Odds to Win NA Upper Division

The pro circuit continues in North America on April 13, as the eight best teams of the region are set to battle it out in the upper division. It’s another huge event with multiple prizes on the line – the teams are battling for a share of the $205,000 prize pool, all-important circuit points, and spots at the upcoming major.

With North America being considered a minor region, teams can only earn two major spots, making first and second place that much more important. This means we’re very likely to see a fight at the top once again and we are in for some great American Dota.

Before we take a closer look at the event, make sure to you understand how to bet on Dota, and let’s jump right into the juicy details.

Who’s Playing in the North America Upper Division?

We’re set to see eight of North America’s best battle it out at the event, with the two most notable teams being Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew. Other than that, North America is surprisingly lacking in well-known teams, with EG being the only actual esports organization involved in this league, while Quincy Crew is mainly known as a team name that lacks any organizational power behind it.

Regardless, we’ll also see Undying, 4 Zoomers, Sadboys and Black N Yellow returning after competing in season 1, while simply toobased and The Cut earned promotion for season 2. Both Sadboys and Black N Yellow have seen quite a few roster moves, and the teams look quite different from the previous season.

One thing that does remain consistent in NA Dota is the format of this event, with teams still fighting it out in a round-robin format, meaning each team faces all the others once, and the team with the most wins takes the league trophy.

Evil Geniuses Look to Build on Major Run

Evil Geniuses are undoubtedly the team to watch in the North America Upper Division. They won season 1, and they managed to reach the grand finals of the major, which was snatched away from them at the death.

They’ve historically always been the best team to come out of America and are looking to be head and shoulders above every other team here.

Between having the backing of a massive esports organization and their individual skill, there should be no way that EG doesn’t sweep through season 2 with ease.

Can Quincy Crew and Undying Repeat Strong Showings?

While EG does look amazing, it was actually surprisingly close in season 1. The league ended in a three-way tie with EG overcoming their opponents in the tiebreaker matches.

However, when we compare major performances, Quincy Crew bombed out of the playoffs, winning just one map, while EG lived until the very end. It’s definitely going to be a difficult time for these two teams if they want to upset the favorites. However, considering how much of a jungle North American Dota is, we could be in for some surprises.

Do The Underdogs Stand a Chance?

When it comes to all the regions, North America may just be the most top-heavy one. The top three teams in season 1 all lost to each other but otherwise dominated the competition. None of the other six teams even really stood a chance and quite frankly, almost every match wasn’t even close.

This is the one league where I would completely count the underdogs out. There’s no way that any of the top three aren’t winning it, and we’ll likely see Evil Geniuses complete a 7-0 clean sweep, with Quincy Crew and Undying ending up either 6-1 or 5-2.
