Who’s playing at Omega League Immortal Europe?
Twelve top teams from Europe and the CIS region will be playing at the event, including top dogs Team Secret as well as Team Nigma, hot off a victory at OGA Dota Pit Season 2.
The teams will battle it out in a round-robin group stage. There will be two groups of six teams, and each team will play every other team in its group once. This will be followed by a double-elimination playoff, meaning once a team loses a game in the lower bracket, it’s out. Here are the groups and each team’s odds to win its group:

Team Secret enters as heavy favorite
Team Secret is by far the biggest favorite for this event, coming in at -118 to win it on, and it’s really no surprise. Secret has been the best Dota team in the world by far in 2020, winning six of the eight events they’ve played this year, which includes losing just 13 times in 100 maps.
The entire team has been performing incredibly well, with each player filling their role perfectly. Young star Michał “Nisha” Jankowski was always a force to be reckoned with but has been unstoppable in 2020. Meanwhile, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov continues to display genius leadership, constantly outsmarting the opposition and creating brilliant strategies.
Secret is no doubt the team to beat at this event, and it will be interesting to see if anyone can stop them.
Can Team Nigma continue its form?
Team Nigma seems to have stabilized after a turbulent first half of 2020. The team was very hit-or-miss until late June, winning Bukovel Minor in January and upsetting Team Secret at WePlay! Dota 2 Tug of War at the end of February, before failing to find any notable results for a few months afterward.
They bounced back at Beyond Epic, taking second place behind the dominant Team Secret, and won OGA Dota Pit Season 2 at the end of July. They looked very impressive at the event, winning every series while losing only three maps in total while captain Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi was out with an arm injury.
However, the competition will be a lot tougher this time, with Team Secret and Team Liquid both attending this event. Meanwhile, KuroKy still hasn’t returned, but perhaps having a fresh face in addition to KuroKy’s guidance is exactly what the team needs to excel.
Is the old-school OG back?
OG is a bit of a Dota 2 anomaly. The team seems to do whatever they want and get results when they feel like it. They’re the only team to ever win two Internationals in a row and did it both times while not looking like anything special throughout the year.
They made some huge changes in 2020, with three of their players stepping down, while announcing the signing of Dota 2 superstar Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan. However, they’ve shocked the world again by removing SumaiL from their roster, with Sébastien “Ceb” Debs returning to the lineup after taking a break in January.
After all that, they don’t find themselves with the best odds to win it at +550 on, but now that one of their core members has returned, we may once again see the OG that can beat anyone. Perhaps it’s even time for some good old OG magic.
