2012 Emmy Awards Odds

Mad Men and Modern Family are the favorites on the odds to win the Emmy Awards for the top television series this Sunday night, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the 64th annual edition of the show.

Mad Men, which has 17 total nominations, is listed as the 2/1 favorite at Bovada to repeat as the Outstanding Drama Series winner on Sunday, with Downton Abbey at 14/5 to pull off the upset in its first year in this category; the PBS show won the Outstanding Miniseries or TV Movie category last year.

Breaking Bad (29/10), Homeland (23/4), Boardwalk Empire (17/2), and Game of Thrones (9/1) round out the top drama nominees.

Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston is then the 7/5 favorite to claim the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series award, which he has already won three times in the past. Homeland's Damian Lewis is seen as his top competition at 9/4 at Bovada, with Mad Men's Jon Hamm at 19/4.

Claire Danes won the 2012 Golden Globe for her work on Homeland, and she's the 6/5 favorite to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series on Sunday night. Defending Emmy winner Julianna Margulies of The Good Wife is next at 7/2 odds on that list.

Two-time Emmy winner Modern Family sits as the 5/4 favorite at Bovada to win the Outstanding Comedy Series trophy on Sunday, with The Big Bang Theory next at 4/1 and HBO shows Girls and Veep both pegged at 11/2. Curb Your Enthusiasm sits at 6/1 odds to win this category, with 30 Rock farther back at 8/1 odds.

For Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series it's Louis C.K. sitting as the 3/2 favorite for Louie, followed by defending winner Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory at 12/5, and then Don Cheadle of House of Lies at 9/2.

Veep's Julia Louis-Dreyfus, a two-time Emmy winner in the past, is the 2/1 favorite at Bovada to win the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category. Amy Poehler of Parks and Recreation is then at 15/4 odds, with Zooey Deschanel of New Girl at 17/4.
