Logan Paul vs CM Punk Betting Odds

What are the odds Logan Paul fights CM Punk in the boxing ring? Find out.

KSI and Logan Paul renewed their pleasantries in the boxing ring on November 9 at the Staples Center with KSI scoring a controversial split-decision victory. In the post-fight interview, KSI was asked about a trilogy fight, to which he responded he was on to new things, but that Logan Paul should fight CM Punk (Phil Brooks) in an MMA bout. This idea was floated after their first fight with Paul calling out Punk, but UFC president Dana White dismissed the idea, as did Punk.

Nothing has been discussed as yet, but online sportsbook Bovada has released odds for a potential boxing match or MMA bout between the two, with Paul being a -130 favorite and Punk coming back at EVEN money in the boxing ring. In the cage, CM Punk is a -225 favorite with Paul coming back at +175.

Will This Fight Happen?

Many naysayers will complain that Paul is just a YouTube guy and he hasn’t even won a boxing match blah blah blah. He showed real improvements against KSI in the rematch, actually looking like a boxer, and should have won had he not had two points deducted for an illegal blow to the back of the head. CM Punk was just a WWE superstar prior to getting signed with the UFC with little to no credentials, so I don’t see much of a difference.

Bookmakers at Bovada have the odds at 14/1 that a fight gets made between the two by the end of 2020.

Will Logan Paul and CM Punk Fight in a Sanctioned Boxing or MMA match in 2020?

Odds as of November 12 at Bovada

Paul wrestled in high school and even finished fifth in the Ohio State championships and now has added some boxing to his resume, so why not sign him or do a Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series fight to see his full skills? If he gets lit up, then case closed.

After Punk’s last UFC fight, in which he was absolutely embarrassed, White said he would likely not fight in the UFC again. This fight would sell, but many MMA purists will hate to see it, especially if it’s on the main card, where I think it would have to be because of name recognition. CM Punk also dismissed Paul after KSI and Paul had their amateur boxing match, but after seeing the draw of the eyes for the rematch and the improvements by Paul, Punk may open up to the idea.

The one issue for these two competing against each other is the size. CM Punk fought at welterweight in the UFC at 170 pounds while Paul boxed at cruiserweight, 200 pounds. I’m not sure if the two could meet at a catch weight of 185 or something.

Boxing or MMA? How Will They Compete?

I think the more likely of the two is in the cage as CM Punk has never talked about boxing and Paul’s attention is on making the jump to MMA where he says his skills are more useful. That said, DAZN has been throwing money around left, right and center and could likely persuade the two to meet in the boxing ring. They could set up another card where you have a big co-main for a world title much like they did with Billy Joe Saunders underneath KSI/Logan Paul II.

Overall, I wouldn’t be shocked to see Logan Paul get a crack at the UFC in one way or another but I don’t anticipate seeing CM Punk in the Octagon ever again after two miserable performances. So, if the two are going to link up in a cage, it’ll have to be outside of the UFC – perhaps Bellator would pick it up.
