Obama Favored in US Election Odds

The Presidential election is still more than a year away, but political junkies can wager now on who will win the nomination from both parties and even who will win the next US election.

Barack Obama is the sitting president and after taking a hit in the approval ratings they are starting to rise even though the Republicans now control the House. Obama and the Democratic Party was shelled in the mid-term elections and after Obama's approval ratings dipped below 50% at the end of 2010 the same CNN pole revealed that 55% of people polled stated that America would be headed in the right direction under Obama's proposed policies.

The Republican nomination is a bit unclear, as nobody has officially thrown his or her hat into the ring. However, there are some candidates that will likely run. 5Dimes has Mitt Romney as the lead candidate from the Republican Party, but he will have some stiff competition.

The other candidates that may give Romney a run for his money are John McCain's running mate in 2008 Sarah Palin, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, General David Petraeus, and former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani.

Obama is the odds on favorite to win the 2012 Presidential election at 5Dimes and I think they are right, as America, for the most part, still wants to see what he can do. It takes a while to clean up a mess and while things are not tidy I think many Americans will give him 4 more years to do it.
