Star Wars Force Awakens Betting Odds

We are only days away from a new Star Wars movie hitting the big screen. Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theatres on December 18, marking the first movie from a Galaxy Far Far Away to hit the cinemas in a decade. With the premier growing ever closer, Sportsbook has released some props about the newest entry into the Star Wars universe.

Just how much money The Force Awakens will make is the biggest question everyone is asking…well after the many complaints and questions about Kylo Ren’s lightsaber.  Variety is projecting the Sportsbook weekend to tally $170 million while Deadline is tabbing the Sportsbook weekend between $185-$210 million.

Sportsbook has tabbed the OVER/UNDER of world wide gross at $1 billion dollars (insert Dr. Evil meme here), with the OVER currently listed at -346.

Jurassic World currently holds the highest world wide gross at the box office this year, with the Chris Pratt/Dinosaur vehicle earning 1.66 billion according to Box Office Mojo. The Force Awakens is favored to top that final total with the line currently at -407.

The biggest question when it comes to dollars earned is whether or not The Force Awakens can become the highest grossing movie in history. That distinction is currently held by Avatar, which grossed $2.78 billion dollars.
