The Undertaker is the Betting Favorite vs Triple H in Australia

The Undertaker and Triple H meet one final time at the WWE Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia on October 6, 2018

Vince McMahon is looking to break the WWE’s all-time attendance record when the Super Show-Down invades the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 6. The current company record is claimed at a (debated) attendance of 101,763 at AT&T Stadium for WrestleMania 32. A sellout at MCG would eclipse that mark.

WWE is rolling out all the big guns for this event, including an Undertaker vs Triple H main event. John Cena, who hasn’t been on WWE TV for months, will be in Melbourne as well. As with any massive event, bettors and sportsbooks are going to get their piece of the pie too. Odds have been released for each match less than two weeks before the event.

Undertaker (-130)  vs Triple H (-110)

In what’s being advertised as the final ever match between two of the most recognizable pro wrestlers in the history of the business, the Undertaker (Mark Calaway) and Triple H (Paul Levesque) will meet one more time and for the first time since WrestleMania 28 in 2012.

The Undertaker opens as the favorite in this match and I tend to think we’ll see Taker go over in this one. Triple H has taken the “best for business” approach and put over the fan favorites in his one-off matches recently. However, I wouldn’t be shocked to see The Game take the W in this match as he does like to be on the winning side of history (See: match vs Sting).

  • The Undertaker    -130
  • Triple H                 -110

Samoa Joe (+140) vs AJ Styles (-180)

The best rivalry in recent WWE history continues Down Under when Samoa Joe and AJ Styles fight in a no count-out, no disqualification match for the WWE championship. This is the match that I’m most looking forward to on this card as these guys have been tearing the house down since being put in this program leading up to SummerSlam.

This is a tough one to predict. Does WWE have Joe win the belt in Australia with Styles winning it back at Survivor Series? That would be a great way to prolong the feud, but I think whenever Styles drops the belt, it will be on one of the four major pay-per-views. While this is a huge event in magnitude, the live viewing audience is hard to measure and I think Styles finds a way to retain in a grueling match.

Odds as of October 3 at 5Dimes

  • AJ Styles            -180
  • Samoa Joe        +140

Bobby Lashley & John Cena (-565) vs Elias & Kevin Owens (+375)

John Cena isn’t going to Australia to lose a match in a one-off appearance. He will also be used to give Bobby Lashley a “rub” in an ongoing feud with Elias. I love the idea of Elias and Kevin Owens working together as heels. As Owens proved with Chris Jericho, his ability to riff and play off another witty heel is unmatched. Elias is cut from the same cloth as those guys. But, as the odds predict, Lashley and Cena will win here.

Odds as of October 3 at 5Dimes

  • Bobby Lashley & John Cena      -575
  • Elias & Kevin Owens                 +375

Ronda Rousey & The Bella Twins (-900) vs The Riott Squad (+500)

This match is still on the card but I wonder if it will actually happen in this configuration as Brie Bella knocked out Liv Morgan (for real) with two kicks to the face this week on Monday Night Raw. If Morgan is unable to compete, look for a one-time stand-in for the Riott Squad to get global stars Rousey and the Bellas on the card.
