Strowman Overwhelming Fave To Win Andre The Giant Battle Royal

All WWE midcarders who are directionless heading into WrestleMania find themselves in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The fourth annual battle royal at WrestleMania 33 is no different, but there is one superstar whose presence in the event could mean big things.

Braun Strowman has done nothing but improve and decimate competition over the past several months on Raw. Unfortunately, due to Roman Reigns now facing The Undertaker at ’Mania, Strowman doesn’t have a match on the biggest card of the year. The one-time member of the Wyatt Family would be well served to enter the battle royal and clear house, looking like a dominant monster in the process.

All that being said, it stands to reason that Strowman is a massive odds-on favorite to win the Andre The Giant Battle Royal. Let’s face it: the WWE has bungled the booking of this match and has done absolutely nothing with it in storylines. Strowman would be their best way to try to rectify that situation before it is too far gone.

The odds list features a lot of names that would never sniff this match in a million years. The likes of Seth Rollins or John Cena are never competing in this battle royal. But there are a few names that could, potentially, go over Strowman.

The top name on that list is Samoa Joe. There are clearly big plans for Joe and he is going to be world champion sooner rather than later but he doesn’t have much going on right now in terms of story. In all likelihood, he will meet Sami Zayn at WrestleMania (in a match that could be the best of the night if given time), but if the card is too loaded, then putting that storyline into the battle royal could help bolster the affair. In terms of pure strength, Joe is one of the only men in the WWE that could go toe to toe with Strowman.

Another interesting name is Finn Balor. Do I think Balor is past the point of competing in this match? Yes. But reports suggest that Balor and Nakamura are going to show up on the Raw after WrestleMania. If the WWE decides they want to split the surprise returns, maybe you put Balor in the battle royal and have him win. If nothing else, the crowd will pop big for Balor.
