LoL 2016 IEM Gyeonggi Betting Odds

The IEM season continues with its second event being held in Goyang, South Korea. Eight teams will compete for their part of the $100,000 prize pool and a bid into the IEM Katowice, joining Unicorns of Love, who won IEM Oakland last month.

The heavy favorite entering the event is Samsung Galaxy (-200). Samsung’s roster looks virtually identical to the one that finished second at the worlds in September with the only losses being substitute top laner Helper and coach Kim Jeong-soo. Samsung works best when its solo laners can take over the game early and, to be perfectly frank, there are not many players in this tournament who can top any individual player on this team one-v-one.

Not surprisingly, the other South Korean team has the second-best odds to win the event with Kongdoo Monster coming in at +425. Kongdoo shocked many by finishing second in November’s KeSPA Cup, including a high-profile victory over KT Rolster in the Round of Eight.  The biggest addition to the team is Starcraft II legend MC, who was added as a coach after he left CJ Entus.

An intriguing team to keep an eye on will be North America’s Immortals. After making huge waves by signing plenty of world-caliber talent last year, Immortals stumbled to end the year and found themselves overhauling the roster this offseason. Many players were given opportunities to try out for other teams, which ultimately led to Reignover, WildTurtle and Adrian leaving the team. In comes Cody Sun at ADC, Dardoch at jungler and veteran Korean player Flame to man the top lane.
