Fnatic Favored To Win EU LCS Summer Split

The EU LCS Summer Split is set to kick off on Friday, June 15 with Fnatic looking to claim their second consecutive split title. Coming off a dominant Spring Split playoffs and an impressive showing at the Mid-Season Invitational, Fnatic finds themselves as +125 favorites to win the EU Summer Split.

EU LCS Summer Split Favorites: Fnatic

As long as Rekkles is his usual self and sOAZ recovers from a hand injury that sidelined him throughout the MSI, then Fnatic will be the team to beat in the EU LCS. Rekkles is coming off an MVP performance during the last split – garnering 86 percent of the vote – pacing the league in KDA and CS per minute while sitting in the top fourth in kill participation.

sOAZ should be back in the lineup after suffering an injury but even if the top laner is not, Fnatic proved they have a more than capable backup in Bripo.

Long story short, Fnatic looks like the class of the EU LCS. There is no real weak link on the roster and they sport the best player in the entire league.

Can G2 Esports Climb The Mountain Again?

The dominance of G2 had to eventually come to an end, as the squad’s streak of four straight EU LCS split titles came to an end in the spring. The team undoubtedly has some of the most talented players in all of the EU with Perkz, Jankos and Wunder but it took some time for Hjarnan and Wadid to really find their groove in the lineup.

Now that the ADC and Support are up to speed, the team needs to do some work on play calling. You could see near the end of the spring split that the team simply made tactical errors that resulted in several key losses. Fixing this will be of the utmost importance if they want to topple Fnatic.

Sleeper To Watch: H2K Gaming

We know what H2K is at this point. The squad plays for the late-game and everything from their champion picks to playstyle obviously reflects that. If H2K can drag a game out, few teams can hang with them but this strategy has a fatal flaw.

By the time the late-game comes around, H2K has almost always built themselves an insurmountable hole.

The team has some clear adjustments to make – specifically, they need to start taking champions that can reach their full potential before H2K gets wiped off the map. However, Selfie is actually pretty adept at building an early game lead but his aggressiveness leads to him getting ganked. If H2K can harness Selfie’s aggression, then they can remain competitive until their late-game can take over.
