LoL Mid-Season Invitational Betting Odds

The best of the best meet in Shanghai, China for the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational. The winners of each region, as well as one wild card team, will play the Group Stage, which will be a double round robin for the first time in MSI history from May 4-8. Following those games, the bracket stage will take place between May 13-15.

Unsurprisingly, SK Telecom T1 enters the tournament as the odds-on favorite according to Sportsbook. The Spring Split didn’t start great for SK, but they dominated after winning the IEM Katowice in near perfect fashion. The trio of Duke, Blank and Faker were basically unstoppable in the playoffs with a combined KDA of 84/36/182 through 11 rounds, nine of which SK won.

Royal Never Give Up, who will be playing on home soil, may be the best bet to knock off SK and win the MSI for China. RNG was the powerhouse of the LPL during the Spring Split with a 13-3 overall record with the only team that seemed to have their number being Team WE. The team’s strength steams from aggressive jungle play from Mlxg, but he is relatively untested in international competition.

G2 Esports will enter the MSI with high hopes, but those all ride on their play in the jungle. Trick has been the key piece to G2’s success in Europe, but will be facing a step up in competition against some other junglers in the tournament.

Flash Wolves swept through the LMS playoffs without dropping a single round. Four of the top five KDA’s in the LMS belonged to the Wolves, with stellar play from AD carry NL pacing the team.

Counter Logic Gaming got hot at the right time and got lucky, as they won the NA Spring playoffs without facing Immortals who were shockingly knocked out. Shockingly great play out of rookie AD carry Stixxay was immensely helpful for the team, but his inexperience will be an uphill battle against the best.

The longshot is wild card SuperMassive. The Turkish team qualified after defeating the Russian Hard Random in the International Wild Card Invitational. I’ll be perfectly honest, I am rusty on my Turkish LoL scene so these guys are a complete unknown to me. However, everyone will likely decimate them anyways.
