Worlds 2020 Group Stage Betting Odds

League of Legends Worlds 2020 Group Stages
Riot Games

League of Legends’ biggest event of the year is almost here, as Worlds 2020 is set to kick off on September 25. There are already a ton of exciting betting options, with Top Esports coming in as favorites for the whole event, and many unique props becoming available.

However, with the group draw on September 15, even more information and wagering options have become available as we now know which teams will face off in the group stage.

Worlds 2020 Group Stage Odds

Sixteen of the best teams in the world will face off in the group stage, split into four groups of four. The top seeds from each region already make up three spots in each group, with the fourth and final teams being filled from the play-in stage.

With the groups being revealed, some huge matches have already been confirmed. Most notably, second and third favorites Damwon Gaming and JD Gaming meet in Group B, alongside LEC hopefuls Rogue.

G2 draw favorable group

As you can probably tell by the odds, G2 Esports will be celebrating their group draw as they enter as heavy favorites to win Group A.

With the third seed from China in Suning and the PCS winners Machi Esports being their opponents so far, G2 should have no problem blowing through the group stage at Worlds and making another playoff appearance.

The main thing the European champions should be scared of is the possibility of a tough opponent from the play-in stage, but even then, the team touted to be the best in the west should be coming in first, and comfortably so.

Can Rogue survive the group of death?

Group B is the clear “group of death” at Worlds, with both Damwon Gaming and JD Gaming being drawn together – two teams that many would back to make it all the way to the final. They’re joined by the LEC’s third seed Rogue, who have a colossal task ahead of them.

Even a quick glance at the event odds will tell you just how tough this group is. DAMWON are second favorites at +230, while JD are close behind at +250. This means both come in as dominant favorites in the group, while Rogue stand at +3000 on Bodog.

It would take nothing short of a miracle for Rogue to survive this group, one that is already being considered as a two-horse race.

LCS faces tough challenge

When it comes to the American competitors, things are also not looking good. LCS winners Team SoloMid find themselves as heavy +900 underdogs in a group featuring two strong opponents, Fnatic and Gen.G.

Runners-up FlyQuest fare much worse off, being drawn into what is arguably also a group of death. They face Worlds favorites Top Esports and fifth favorites DRX, understandably finding themselves at +10000 to win Group D.

North America’s hopes rest with a miracle from either of these teams, or a fortune draw for Team Liquid, should they advance from the play-in.
