The second leg of the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Playoffs continues this weekend with the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC Boston.
World No. 1 Jason Day is way ahead of the pack as the +650 favorite at Bovada. Dustin Johnson (+1000), Jordan Spieth (+1200), Rory McIlroy (+1200), Henrik Stenson (+1600), Rickie Fowler (+2000), Adam Scott (+2200), Patrick Reed (+2200), Justin Rose (+2500) and Bubba Watson (+3300) round out the top 10.
Fowler is the defending champion, but he’s coming off a disappointing showing at The Barclays. The American was leading after three rounds but fell apart on Sunday, shooting a final-round 70 including a pair of bogeys on two of the last three holes to let Patrick Reed win easily.
The tournament will feature 102 total entrants after the field was shortened at The Barclays. The four playoff events offer a combined $32 million in prize money, meaning a cool $8 million will await the Deutsche Bank Championship winner.
A good performance at The Barclays does not translate to tickets cashed at the Deutsche Bank. Only four men in the past three seasons have notched top-10 finishes at each of the first two playoff events. Last year, Stenson and Daniel Summerhays were able to do so.
Due to its proximity to Labor Day, the Deutsche Bank Championship will feature a Monday finish to take advantage of the holiday.
