Adam Hadwin +2200
Hadwin’s extremely solid 2017 has vaulted him to the top Canadian on the PGA Tour by a large margin. The 29-year-old won the Valspar Championship in early March, got married, placed sixth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and followed that up with a T-36 result in his debut at the Masters.
Putting is so key at the RBC Heritage, and Hadwin excels in that department week in and week out. Due to its slot on the Tour schedule right behind the Masters, the field is perennially weakened. That will only benefit Hadwin with many of the top players in the game opting to rest this week.
Another interesting stat is the success of RBC-sponsored golfers at the tournament. Players sponsored by the bank have triumphed in five of the last seven years, and Hadwin will look to keep that trend going in South Carolina.
Russell Henley +2500
Henley is on a serious hot streak right now. He won the Shell Houston Open and immediately posted a personal-best T-11 at the Masters. He’s been in the mix for the majority of 2017, boasting six top-15s in his last nine starts.
Henley sits 20th in greens in regulation and sixth in strokes gained through putting. That’s going to be instrumental at getting the job done at this golf course. Keep riding the hot hand and take the solid +2500 value.
Jason Dufner +3300
Dufner is not as in-form as Hadwin and Henley, but he’s another player whose game translates perfectly to this tournament. Dufner has always put more of an emphasis on accuracy over length, and his great iron play makes him a candidate to get hot in a hurry.
He’s never been in the top tier when it comes to putting, but he’s done a much better job on the greens of late compared with his career numbers. He’s not my top pick, however I’m comfortable giving the Duff Man a spot start when the course layout suits him like this one does.
