McIlroy Atop Players Championship Odds

After rolling to a victory in the Match Play Championship over the weekend Rory McIlroy has been listed as the favorite at the sportsbooks on the odds to win THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass this week.

At online sportsbook Bovada McIlroy has been listed as the 7/1 favorite on the odds to win THE PLAYERS Championship, putting him slightly ahead of Jordan Spieth on those golf betting lines; Spieth is holding down a line of 15/2.

It's then Justin Rose at 18/1 on the tournament odds at Bovada, with Henrik Stenson at 20/1; Stenson has won this event before, back in 2009. Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, and Jim Furyk are all pegged at 25/1 odds.

Tiger Woods is at 28/1 on THE PLAYERS Championship odds at Bovada and he won this tournament both in 2001 and just two years ago in 2013. 2008 champion Sergio Garcia sits at 33/1 odds along with Hideki Matsuyama and Jimmy Walker.

Rounding out the top contenders on the odds to win the tournament are then each of Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Lee Westwood, Matt Kuchar, Paul Casey, and Phil Mickelson at 40/1 odds. Scott won THE PLAYERS Championship in 2004, with Kuchar winning in 2012, and Mickelson winning in 2007.

Defending champion Martin Kaymer is well back at 70/1 odds to win the event this week.
