Odds to Win the FedEx St. Jude Classic

A general view of the 18th green during the final round of the FedEX St. Jude Classic at the TPC Southwind on June 11, 2017 in Memphis, Tennessee.

The final tune-up before the second major of the season takes place this weekend when the FedEx St. Jude Classic kicks off in the Volunteer State.

Daniel Berger is seeking a third straight victory at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

At Bovada, Dustin Johnson is the +650 front-runner, with Brooks Koepka (+900), Henrik Stenson (+1100), Phil Mickelson (+1600), Tony Finau (+2000), Billy Horschel (+2200), Charl Schwartzel (+2800), Daniel Berger (+2800), Luke List (+2800) and Byeong Hun An (+3300) shaping the top 10.

Many of the top players on the tour decided to skip the event this time around, as only four of the top 20 players in the world rankings will be teeing it up in Tennessee. Thirteen U.S. Open entrants will be in the St. Jude field. A regular on the PGA Tour Champions schedule, John Daly joins the Memphis lineup for the first time since 2014 and is +100000 to pull off a win – tied with Johan Kok for the longest odds of the tournament.

Can Berger win three straight at TPC Southwind?

The Memphis setting has provided some entertaining finishes over the years, but Berger’s dominance at TPC Southwind cannot be ignored. A back-to-back winner at the tournament, Berger is looking to become the first man since 2011 to three-peat at a PGA Tour event. Both of the American’s two professional wins have come at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Only six men in the past four decades have won three straight at the same venue. Steve Stricker was the last to pull off the rare feat, winning three consecutive John Deere Classics from 2009 to 2011.

Berger emerged from a logjam at the top of the leaderboard thanks to a bogey-free 66 on the final day here a year ago. Five players finished two shots off the pace at the 2017 FedEx St. Jude Classic. At one point, nine golfers shared the final-round lead at 8 under before Berger distanced himself from the pack.

The course, a 7,244-yard par 70, is set to host the FedEx St. Jude Classic for the 30th straight year. The track is widely regarded as a favorite among PGA Tour regulars, as TPC Southwind will be the setting for a World Golf Championship event in 2019. A litany of natural lakes, streams and ponds comprise a majority of the course, with the iconic par-3 11th hole drawing similar comparisons to No. 17 at TPC Sawgrass due to its tiny island green.
