For the 73rd time, the PGA Tour returns to Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas for the 2018 edition of the Fort Worth Invitational.
Kevin Kisner claimed his second PGA Tour victory here a year ago.
At Sportsbook, Jordan Spieth is the +700 favorite, with Jon Rahm (+1200), Rickie Fowler (+1600), Justin Rose (+2200), Webb Simpson (+2200), Brooks Koepka (+2500), Jimmy Walker (+2500), Patrick Cantlay (+2500), Jason Dufner (+2800) and Adam Scott (+3000) rounding out the top 10.
In all, 13 of the top 30 golfers in the world rankings will be teeing it up in the Lone Star State. Koepka, who tied for 11th at The Players Championship, is making his third start since returning to action after a long layoff due to a wrist injury. All eyes will be on Spieth, as the Texan’s title here in 2016 remains his only win in his home state since turning pro. Spieth hasn’t won a tournament since last year’s impressive showing at the Open Championship.
Kevin Kisner claimed his second PGA Tour victory at the event a year ago, carding a 4-under-par 66 on the final day to stave off the surging Spieth, Rahm and Sean O’Hair. Kisner kicked off the back nine at Colonial with three straight birdies and never looked back en route to the triumph.
Plenty of familiarity for the pros at Colonial
The course, a 7,209-yard par 70, has been a regular on the tour since 1946. Only Augusta National has been a host for longer. Colonial features a litany of tight fairways and doglegs, so accuracy across the board will be key in order to get the job done here. Zach Johnson owns the 72-hole record of 259, which was set in 2010.
Coming from behind has become the norm at the Forth Worth Invitational. Eight of the past nine winners have trailed heading into the final round, with Spieth being the lone exception.
