PGA Tour Expert Picks: Memorial Tournament

Look, predicting a pre-tournament winner in golf isn’t easy. While it’s true sports bettors can find fantastic value, it’s incredibly frustrating when one of your picks doesn’t even make the cut. That’s why I’m here to help.
Every week I’ll highlight three golfers who have a good chance to win the hardware for the upcoming weekend. This week it’s the Memorial Tournament.

My favorite pick: Matt Kuchar +1800
Kuchar has been having a fantastic 2018-19 regular season, and I expect him to continue his red-hot ways at “Jack’s Place.” The FedExCup points leader has two wins and two seconds this season. Kuchar ranks second on the Memorial’s all-time money list with a victory (2013) and a fantastic 10 top-15 finishes.
My second favorite pick: Tony Finau +2000
Coming off a second-place finish at Colonial, Finau is in excellent form right now ahead of the 2019 Memorial Tournament. The American loves playing at the venue, as he’s gone 4-for-4 on cuts made with three top-15s. At +2000, I think he has a great chance to finish high on the leaderboard Sunday.
My third favorite pick: Phil Mickelson +5000
Placing a pre-tournament bet on Mickelson has either yielded amazing or disastrous results at this point in his career, as the veteran tends to place highly or miss the cut altogether, depending on the tournament. He’s 15-for-18 in his career with 10 top-25s at Muirfield, so comfortability with the course is not an issue.
