RBC Heritage Odds & Betting Preview

Wesley Bryan celebrates with the trophy after winning the 2017 RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links during the final round on April 16, 2017 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

With another exciting Masters Tournament in the books, the focus of the PGA Tour shifts to South Carolina for the 2018 edition of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links.

This is Dustin Johnson’s first trip to the RBC Heritage since 2009.

According to Bovada, world No. 1 Dustin Johnson is the +800 favorite, with Paul Casey (+1400), Matt Kuchar (+1800), Cameron Smith (+2200), Adam Hadwin (+2200), Webb Simpson (+2500), Marc Leishman (+2500), Patrick Cantlay (+2800), Brian Harman (+2800) and Kevin Kisner (+2800) rounding out the top 10.

This weekend marks the first time Johnson has returned to his home-state stop on the tour since 2009, and his addition to the roster adds plenty of intrigue to an event celebrating its 50th anniversary. In four rounds at Harbour Town, DJ has failed to finish under par. Seven of the top 25 players in the world rankings will be teeing it up at the RBC Heritage, as well as three of the current top 10 in the FedExCup standings race.

Wesley Bryan became the first South Carolina native to win his home state’s event here a year ago when he finished a stroke ahead of runner-up Luke Donald. The 28-year-old was the only man in the final three Sunday groups to record a score better than a 73. Bryan is a +10000 long shot to go back to back at the event.

Close but no cigar at Harbour Town for Luke Donald

Donald, who’s available at a price of +4000, easily has the best track record without winning at the RBC Heritage of anyone on the PGA Tour. The Englishman has produced seven top-three finishes at the tournament in the previous nine years, including three that saw him fail to convert a 54-hole lead. As a result, he trails two-time champion Jim Furyk by roughly $88,000 on the all-time earnings list.

The course, a Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus design, is a 7,099-yard par 71. Accuracy is more important than distance at Harbour Town, as the track’s narrow fairways and small greens consistently reward golfers who specialize in ball placement.
