The Match Champions for Charity Tiger Phil Brady Manning Odds

Tiger Woods & Peyton Manning vs Phil Mickelson & Tom Brady Odds

In November 2018, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson went head-to-head in a match-play pay-per-view golf challenge. A year and a half later, Tiger and Phil are back – and they’re bringing a few superstar quarterback friends with them.

On April 22, Turner Sports announced a new unique golf event: “The Match: Champions for Charity” on Sunday May 24. The 18-hole benefit will be a two-on-two one-day, made-for-television event with Woods and Peyton Manning going up against Mickelson and Tom Brady.

When it comes to odds, sportsbooks are clearly giving Woods and Manning the partner edge. Tiger and the ex-Indianapolis Colt and Denver Bronco are the -185 favorites at Sportsbook while Mickelson and Brady are coming back as +150 underdogs.

Rules & Format

The live charity event has officially been set for Sunday, May 24 at Medalist Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida. A total of $40 million – $10 million from each participant – will go to COVID-19 relief.

The first nine holes will start out as best-ball, with the back nine following a modified alternate shot format.

Since the PGA canceled The Players Championship on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, golf has been put on hold. If you’re wondering when sports will return, we’ve updated the latest schedule.

What’s Tom Brady’s Handicap?

While everyone knows how good Brady and Manning are on the football field, their golf games have certainly been overshadowed by their prowess on the gridiron. But these champion signal-callers are keen golf fans and have been regularly spotted at high-profile courses across the United States.

Brady teamed up with Jim Nantz – who’s called the Masters on CBS since 1989 – to take on a team of Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush in a six-hole match a few years ago. He has played out of the extremely exclusive The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts in the past and sports an 8.1 handicap index, with his five most recent scores consisting of 96-86-93-83-85.

What’s Peyton Manning’s Handicap?

In 2013, Manning shot a five-over-par 77 at Augusta National, the home of the Masters on the PGA Tour.

According to the USGA’s Handicap Information Network, the quarterback-turned-golfer has a 6.4 handicap. His five most recent scores were 83-88-82-86-84. The 44-year-old is a member of the private Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, Colorado.

‘The Match’ Had Its Fair Share Of Issues

The previous iteration of “The Match,” which took place in Las Vegas, had some challenges and was met with mixed reviews. Mickelson and Woods were all square after 18 holes, followed by the duo playing four playoff holes as darkness set in on Shadow Creek Golf Course until Mickelson emerged triumphant.

Some fans were locked out of their pay-per-view purchases and others got to watch it for free. Neither Woods nor Mickelson played their best golf that day, which didn’t help matters. Last year, a similar four-man event took place during the Zozo Championship in Japan between Woods, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Hideki Matsuyama.

Betting Props for The Match

Considering the spectacle of the live event and the lack of sports going on, the attention surrounding the charity match on Sunday is going to be sky-high, and sportsbooks are getting in on the fun to give bettors plenty of gambling options.

Sportsbook has released a litany of props surrounding Tiger Woods & Peyton Manning vs Phil Mickelson & Tom Brady.

The options range from whether or not there will be a hole-in-one to the total number of times Woods twirls his club to which player will have a football highlight shown first to whether “Omaha” – Manning’s patented audible in the huddle – will be said.

Here’s a look at the book’s full list of props for the high-profile charity event between Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning against Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady.

What is a Prop Bet?

A prop is a bet on the occurrence or non-occurrence of certain outcomes that may not necessarily determine the outcome of the game. You can make a bet like this as soon as the odds are announced. Oddsmakers will move the lines as news comes out and adjust them based on recent news.

For example, here are betting odds for if the word "Omaha" will be said during the broadcast:

Yes +215

No -330

If you think Peyton Manning or another golfer will say "Omaha" during "The Match" broadcast and you bet $100 on "Yes" and it gets said, you'd win $325. This is your original $100 wager along with $225 in winnings from your sportsbook.

If you see prop odds you like, place your bet immediately. Otherwise, the action could move so much that you may miss out on a more advantageous line to make a profit.
