Woods tops PGA Championship odds

After tuning up his game at the Bridgestone Invitational Tiger Woods will be looking to pick up a major victory in the week ahead as he hits the links at Oak Hill as the betting favorite on the odds to win the PGA Championship.

At Sportsbook Woods is pegged as the 7/2 favorite on the PGA Championship odds as he tries to win the event for the first time since 2007. Woods was also the Sportsbook at the PGA Championship in each of 2006, 2000, and 1999.

Phil Mickelson is next at 11/1 odds at Sportsbook, with his PGA Championship victory coming in 2005 at Baltusrol. Adam Scott and Brandt Snedeker are each then at 20/1 odds, with Justin Rose rounding out the top five golfers at 22/1 odds.

Rory McIlroy, who won the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island last year, is tied with Hunter Mahan and Lee Westwood at 25/1 odds, with each of Jason Day, Luke Donald, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Graeme McDowell, Charl Schwartzel, and Henrik Stenson at 33/1 odds.

Keegan Bradley, the 2011 champion, is at 40/1 odds at Sportsbook along with Jason Dufner, Sergio Garcia, Steve Stricker, and Bubba Watson. 2010 Sportsbook Martin Kaymer sits at 66/1 on the odds to win the PGA Championship this year.

Tiger Woods will take his last shot at a major tournament title for 2012 when he hits the links as the favorite to win the PGA Championship in South Carolina this week.

Woods will tee it up at the Kiawah Island Resort at 8/1 odds at Sportsbook to win the PGA Championship this week; Woods missed the cut at this tournament at the Atlanta Athletic Club last year. Keegan Bradley, who just won the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational tournament at Firestone over the weekend, claimed last year's PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club in a playoff over Jason Dufner.

In his career Woods has managed to win the PGA Championship four times, paying off on the golf odds at the event with a title in each of 1999, 2000, 2006, and 2007. Overall Woods has picked up eight Top-10 results at the tournament in the past 14 years.

Following Woods on the PGA Championship odds list at Sportsbook are both Luke Donald and Rory McIlroy at 18/1, with Lee Westwood at 20/1, and Phil Mickelson trailing the leaders at 40/1. Mickelson won the PGA Championship at Baltusrol in 2005.

Adam Scott, who was eighth at the PGA Championship last year, is at 28/1 on the odds for this week along with Dufner and Justin Rose, which puts them ahead of a large group of golfers - including Bradley, Matt Kuchar, Webb Simpson, Dustin Johnson, Steve Stricker, and Louis Oosthuizen - all at 33/1 odds.

Hunter Mahan, Bubba Watson, Graeme McDowell, Bo Van Pelt, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson, and Padraig Harrington are all pegged at 40/1 odds to claim the major title on Sunday. Harrington was the 2008 PGA Championship Sportsbook at Oakland Hills.

Ernie Els, who just won the British Open, is at 50/1 odds for this week along with Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, and Nick Watney. Martin Kaymer, who won the 2010 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, is listed at 66/1 odds to win the tournament.
