Guys & Bets (Episode 19): NFL Week 11 and CFB Week 12, Hot Topics and NHL Quick Picks

It’s Tuesday so the Guys & Bets crew is back to bring you up to speed on the world of sports betting, handicapping and picks!

The guys run through some hot topics in sports betting at the top of the show, including how to bet Alabama this season, potential chemistry concerns with the Golden State Warriors in the wake of their loss to the Clippers, Nathan Peterman done in Buffalo, the crazy numbers with NFL and college football totals, and odds on where Carmelo Anthony lands next as his days in Houston appear to be numbered.

Next up, the guys tackle some NFL games and the Tuesday show means prime-time games. Up first is the Thursday nighter between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks and, as we all know, Prime Time Pete and the Seahawks are a pretty incredible bet in prime-time games. The Sunday nighter pits the Chicago Bears against the Minnesota Vikings at Soldier Field, a tough place for any team, not the least of which has been Minnesota down the years. Finally, the Monday nighter is a biggie (and so is the total) as the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs meet in Mexico City. Hopefully. Field conditions for this one do not look good and there is talk of moving the game or postponing it, but we’ll see.

In the college ranks, not a ton of big-time matchups this week but there are some good ones. One of those good ones should be Syracuse against Notre Dame at Yankee Stadium. The Orange could easily be undefeated but are 9.5-point dogs here against the Irish, who look to have Ian Book back under center. West Virginia quarterback Will Grier has put together an exceptional season and will try to pad his stats against a porous Oklahoma State Cowboys defense that is more than susceptible to it. Is the spread too small here? Lastly, Colorado has parted ways with its head coach and now hosts Utah, a red-hot bet lately. How do you think the Buffs respond to the news of their head coach?

Kris Abbott rounds out the show as he presents his three best bets from tonight’s hockey board as he presents his NHL Quick Picks.
