Guys & Bets (Episode 222): Three College Basketball Picks, Plus Two NBA and One Bundesliga Pick

On today’s episode of Guys & Bets, Andrew Avery and Iain MacMillan get you set with a mix of bets from a slim Tuesday board. Ninja and Iain break down their plays across the NBA, college basketball and the Bundesliga.

Coming off a 3-0 day, Ninja looks to stay hot as he heads to the hardcourt for his first couple of picks. The lowly Atlanta Hawks are in Madison Square Garden to square off with the lowly New York Knicks. Even though the game doesn’t feature elite teams, it doesn’t mean there isn’t money to be made. The Knicks return home after a four-game West Coast swing. They’ve been all right under interim head coach Mike Miller, winning two of their last three, and Ninja has a bet on the point spread for this one.

His other NBA play is on the Brooklyn Nets vs New Orleans Pelicans. It’s a player prop for a guy who is really elevating his game this season. Brandon Ingram has taken his game to new heights with the increased opportunity he now sees in New Orleans and Ninja will let you know where he stands on his total for tonight’s game.

Ninja’s final pick is in German football as Borussia Dortmund hosts RB Leipzig. Dortmund sits third with Leipzig in first and this is a match where both squads like to attack, so that could lead to more goals than expected. Dortmund comes into the match having won its last four games, scoring 13 goals in the process. RB Leipzig leads the Bundesliga in goal differential at +26 and hasn’t lost in 10 matches.

Iain has three college basketball picks for the show. He gets started with a bet on the total for Florida vs Providence in the Air Force Basketball Hall Of Fame Invitational. The Gators come in hot, having won four of their last five, and are led by senior forward Kerry Blackshear Jr.

Sticking with the Invitational, Iain has a play between Miami and Temple. Both teams come into the matchup averaging in the low 70s for points per game. Jim Larranaga’s squad pulled off an impressive win over Illinois earlier this month and is looking to start the tournament off on the right foot.

For his final pick, Iain has a bet on the line as the Purdue Boilermakers meet the Ohio Bobcats. Ohio have won its last four games in rather easy fashion and is led by sophomore guard Jason Preston. Purdue, meanwhile, has dropped two of its last three and will rely on senior guard Jahaad Proctor.
