Guys & Bets (Episode 235): Harry and Pamela’s Clemson-LSU Picks, Plus 4 NBA and Serie A Picks

Joe Osborne and Andrew Avery are back after a wild weekend in sports. Guys & Bets gets you primed for the College Football Playoff National Championship this evening and a full slate of NBA action.

Joe gets the show started in the Association as the Charlotte Hornets, an emerging Guys & Bets darling, are in Portland to take on the Trail Blazers. It’s not a stretch to say that Portland has been the most disappointing team in the NBA this season, posting an underwhelming 16-24 record thus far. And to make matters worse, they’ve lost their last four games at home. The Hornets sit 4.5 games out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Joe’s wager is on the line for this game.

After digging through the data and the numbers, Joe has a prop bet as the Indiana Pacers host the Philadelphia 76ers. This one is a point total for one of the more reliable players in the league. He’s been a consistent pro and flies under the radar all too often.

Finally for Joe, he likes a developing first-quarter trend as the Orlando Magic are in Sacramento to take on the Kings. The Kings were expecting a boost upon the return of De’Aaron Fox in mid-December, but that hasn’t been the case with a measly 3-9 record since then. Meanwhile, the Magic are positioning themselves to be in the playoff race when the games start to heat up.

Ninja gets his picks going with a wager on the Pelicans vs Pistons. New Orleans rolls into the Motor City having won seven of its last 10 games, while Detroit is the complete opposite, having won three of their last 10. The Pelicans are looking to rebound after they allowed a season-high 140 points against the Celtics on Saturday.

Next up for Ninja is a match in Serie A featuring Parma taking on Lecce. While these teams are separated by 10 points in the standings, there’s only a +2 difference in goals for in favor of Parma. After sifting through the numbers for this matchup, Ninja’s bet is on a goal total.

Harry Gagnon and Pamela Maldonado made their picks for the College Football Playoff National Championship on Friday. We will relive those picks to get you ready for tonight’s game, which looks like it could be an instant classic.
