Guys & Bets (Episode 245): Five NBA Picks and an FA Cup Pick

Joe Osborne and Andrew Avery are ready to start the betting week off with some Sportsbooks as they bring in a mix of NBA and the FA Cup, including a pair of picks for a juicy matchup between the Mavericks and Thunder.

Joe leads off his bets with a player points prop in the NBA as the Detroit Pistons host the Cleveland Cavaliers. These two played in back-to-back games in January with each team having a win. Derrick Rose averaged 25.5 points in those two games and thus far in 2020 is averaging 23 per game. Joe sees a good angle on his points total for tonight’s tilt between the two foes.

In other NBA games, the Houston Rockets are in Utah to tip off against the Jazz. Simply put, the Jazz have been on fire. They are 9-1 in their last 10 and 14-1 over a 15-game span. Donovan Mitchell is leading the charge, but this team is getting contributions from everyone. Rudy Gobert has had a double-double in his last nine games and Bojan Bogdanovic has averaged 22.2 points per game in the new year. Joe’s bet here is on a side.

The Dallas Mavericks are in Oklahoma City to face the Thunder in what looks to be the game of the day. One of the biggest questions heading into the NBA season was who would acquire Chris Paul? That question has really gone quiet. The Thunder have thrived this season and Paul has been the leader they needed and Joe hopes Paul can cash his wager.

Ninja is off and running this week with a couple of NBA picks, and that’s where he’ll start. The Thunder have been one of the surprise teams so far in the NBA season. They currently sit in the seventh spot in the Western Conference and are riding a five-game winning streak. Ninja has a wager regarding the spread for this game.

Staying in the NBA, Ninja also has a wager on a player points prop in the Pistons-Cavaliers game. This under-the-radar Cavaliers player has been riding a solid January and contributing in many ways for the Cavs. See why Ninja likes the OVER on this one.

Time to turn our attention to the pitch for FA Cup action. Bournemouth welcomes Arsenal to Vitality Stadium with the Sportsbook booking their spot to the final 16 teams of the tournament. It’s a tough game to cap with the Gunners on the road and Bournemouth dealing with a slew of injuries, so Ninja is going to take a stab on an anytime scorer prop.

As always, the show wraps up with a Q&A session for our viewers, so if there’s anything you’ve always wanted to ask, you should be joining us live every weekday at noon ET on our YouTube channel!
