Guys & Bets (Episode 254): Two NBA Picks, Plus College Basketball, XFL and Three Soccer Picks

It’s Friday which means an XL-sized episode of Guys & Bets is on tap as Andrew Avery, Joe Osborne and Harry Gagnon break down their favorite upcoming bets!

Joe’s first bet for the show is on the NBA as the Dallas Mavericks are facing the Orlando Magic in Florida. Joe is following a major trend here and the numbers and data certainly support it. Neither team played yesterday, so they should both be fresh for their return from the all-star break.

One of the more interesting teams in the NBA prior to the break was the Memphis Grizzlies. Ja Morant has been everything you’d want out of a rookie point guard and Jaren Jackson and Dillon Brooks have elevated their game. Tonight they face the top team in the Western Conference in the Los Angeles Lakers. With the Lakers as massive chalk here, see which side of the spread Joe is on.

Finally for Joe, he found a college basketball game that piqued his interest. The Buffalo Bulls are at the MAC Center to take on the Kent State Golden Flashes. Kent State has been struggling to find a way to score lately and Joe’s bet here is on the total.

Ninja has three soccer picks today and gets it started in the Premier League. In what looks like a juicy spot, Sheffield United is home to Brighton. Chris Wilder’s squad comes into this match having dropped only one of their last seven matches, and find themselves in a tight race for qualifying for Champions League.

The Bundesliga table has a lot to be determined and Borussia Monchengladbach find themselves right in the mix. With a game in hand on top place Bayern, Gladbach sits four points out of top spot. Marco Rose’s side has been impressive at home in league play, having won their last eight matches. Hoffenheim find themselves sandwiched in the middle of the table, and a win would go a long way to fix some of their issues on the road. Ninja has valuable info to back his bet here.

There is a matchup in La Liga that Ninja has found a side for. The data in this match between Real Sociedad and Valencia is very favorable to one squad. You’ll want to hear which side Ninja has his bet on.

Finally, Harry Gagnon likes a play in the XFL as the DC Defenders are in St. Louis for a tilt with the BattleHawks as pro football returns to the city. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu has been a pleasant surprise for the BattleHawks through two games and, quite frankly, the whole team has been a surprise compared to what pundits were expecting to start the season. Harry’s bet here is surrounding the spread.

As always, the show wraps up with a Q&A session for our viewers, so if there’s anything you’ve always wanted to ask, you should be joining us live every weekday at noon ET on our YouTube channel!
