Guys & Bets (Episode 255): Three NBA Picks, Two Champions League Picks and College Basketball

Happy hump day, y’all! Your favorite sports betting show returns as Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery and Iain MacMillan break down their favorite bets across the NBA, Champions League and college basketball.

There’s a tasty schedule in the NBA and that’s where the show kicks off with Joe’s first pick. The Boston Celtics are once again road underdogs as they are in Utah to face the Jazz. If it feels like forever ago when the Jazz couldn’t lose, you’re not alone. They’ve gone 4-8 in their last 12 games and it doesn’t get easier with the Celts in town. Boston looks to be hitting its stride now with Jayson Tatum emerging as the go-to guy.

Staying in the Association, the Dallas Mavericks have a road tilt against their state rivals, the San Antonio Spurs. This certainly hasn’t been the same Spurs team we’ve grown accustomed to over the last 20 years as they are currently sitting outside the playoff picture. Joe has found a solid trend in a nice spot to make a bet on the Mavericks in this one.

For his final pick on the show, Joe is looking at the Memphis Grizzlies as they are in Houston squaring off against the now-hot Rockets. The Rockets transformed into what head coach Mike D’Antoni wanted at the trade deadline, a pure small-ball team. It’s tough to argue with the results thus far as they’ve won eight of their last 10 games, including wins against the Celtics and Jazz. Joe is on a team prop for this game.

Juventus and Lyon square off in one of two Champions League matches today. Lyon is one of two teams (Atalanta) to qualify for the Round of 16 without double-digit points in group play. They have a heavy task ahead of them against Juventus. Cristiano Ronaldo has been on an absolute tear with goals in 11 consecutive matches. That’s insane. The play here is on the three-way moneyline.

Ninja also has a play in the other Champions League match today with Real Madrid hosting Manchester City. This game gives Manchester City a chance to talk about something other than their potential ban. In group play, City was one of the top-scoring teams, but so was Madrid. Ninja has gone through the numbers and found a smart wager for this match.

Iain has an official pick on the show today, and he’s looking at college basketball as the Tennessee Volunteers face the Arkansas Razorbacks in SEC action. After starting the season on fire, the Razorbacks have come down to earth, losing five of their last six. The game features junior guard Mason Jones of Arkansas, who is averaging 20.5 points per game to go along with almost six rebounds. The Volunteers have five players in double digits in points per game and could lean on John Fulkerson and what he brings to the table. Iain has some key numbers you would want to hear before betting on this game.

As always, the show wraps up with a Q&A session for our viewers, so if there’s anything you’ve always wanted to ask, you should be joining us live every weekday at noon ET on our YouTube channel!
