Guys & Bets (Episode 257): Three NBA Picks, Plus FA Cup, Copa del Rey and College Basketball

It’s Wednesday and that means your favorite sports cappers are back at it for another LIVE episode of Guys & Bets. Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery and Iain MacMillan have scoured the board to find the best games to profit off of across a few different leagues.

Joe starts off in the NBA with the all-Florida matchup as the Miami Heat host the Orlando Magic. Jimmy Butler and the Heat bounced out of their slump with a big home win against the top team in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks, on Monday night. Now, for this game, Joe is on a trend that he follows closely, and one that has cashed many times.

Next up for Joe is a bet on a total. The Oklahoma City Thunder are in Motown to take on the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons offense isn’t exactly firing on all cylinders, or any cylinders for that matter. They put up 76 (!!!) points against Charlotte to begin a seven-game skid and the Thunder are a feisty bunch who play tough defense and can grind their opponent down.

Joe caps off his picks with another game in the Association. Despite being 16 games under .500, the Washington Wizards sit in the ninth spot only four and a half games out of the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. They have been a solid team on the spread in back-to-backs this season and look to continue that in Portland. The Trail Blazers get Damian Lillard back from injury for this one and that plays into Joe’s reasoning here.

Ninja has footy picks for you and he takes a look at FA Cup action with Tottenham facing Norwich. Tottenham comes into this one having dropped three consecutive games and because of that has created a stir about roster construction and who is staying and who could be leaving. Most of this can be erased with a victory over Norwich as the Spurs try to continue in the FA Cup.

Staying on the pitch, Ninja is looking at a goal total in Copa del Rey play. Mirandes hosts Real Sociedad with Real having a chance to make history. La Real lead 2-1 on aggregate and could advance to their first Copa final in 32 years. However, the play here isn’t on a side, but rather a goal prop. Mirandes is a squad that can put the ball in the net, having tallied 40 markers thus far in the Spanish Segunda League. They will be desperate for at least two goals today.

Iain finishes the picks off with a college basketball pick. Arkansas is a slight home favorite against SEC rival LSU. The Tigers sit third in the SEC behind Kentucky and Auburn and have a good opportunity here to move into second place. Senior guard Skylar Mays is coming off one of his better games, dropping 24 points against Texas A&M in an easy LSU win. Iain has a bet here on the spread.
