Guys & Bets (Episode 258): Three NBA Picks, Plus XFL, Ligue 1, La Liga and College Basketball

It’s FRIDAY! A full show of Guys & Bets is coming your way with a full cast. Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery, Iain MacMillan and Harry Gagnon have seven bets for the show covering a wide range of leagues.

It’s the matchup we’ve been waiting for in the NBA: the top two teams in the Association square off at Staples Center. LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers host Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks in a game the entire NBA will be watching. Joe couldn’t pass on this game as he just had to cap it and found a spot you’ll want to hear about.

Next on the docket for Joe is a player prop. While it’s been a disappointing season for the Minnesota Timberwolves, at least D’Angelo Russell is making it exciting to watch. The sixth-year guard has averaged 23.5 points per game this season, and dropped 28 on their opponent, the Orlando Magic, the last time they played.

For his third and final pick on the show, Joe is staying in the NBA as the Atlanta Hawks are in the nation’s capital to face the Washington Wizards. This game plays into the hands of one of Joe’s favorite NBA trends to track closely: first-quarter trends. It’s a nice spot to bet on a total.

As you know, Ninja is your go-to guy for soccer picks and he starts off in France for some Ligue 1. Marseille hosts Amiens in what looks like a prime spot to take the home team. Marseille sits comfortably in the second position, eight points clear of third place. Only two squads advance directly to Champions League, so it’s vital Marseille takes advantage of this opportunity to add to their point total.

Staying on the pitch, Ninja takes a look at La Liga and has found a nice spot for a moneyline bet. Leganes is at Estadio de la Ceramica to face Villarreal in a match that matters for two totally different reasons. Leganes is trying to avoid relegation, but is five points of being clear. Villarreal has dropped its last two games and could really use the win to stay in contention for European spots.

Harry Gagnon is back on the XFL! The Tampa Bay Vipers are in L.A. for a tilt with the Wildcats. Josh Johnson has been better at home than on the road at quarterback for the Wildcats and that’s part of Harry’s reasoning for his pick in this game. The Vipers are led by their ground game as De’Veon Smith leads the league in rushing and teammate Jacques Patrick is third.

It’s conference championship weekend in college hoops and Iain found a banged-up team to bet against. VCU has a host of players out and find themselves as betting underdogs against Davidson. Iain has been rock solid betting on college hoops in 2020, and he looks to continue giving winners.

As always, the show wraps up with a Q&A session for our viewers, so if there’s anything you’ve always wanted to ask, you should be joining us live every weekday at noon ET on our YouTube channel!
