Staying on the diamond, Joe's next pick is in the City Of Brotherly Love. Sandy Alcantra and the Miami Marlins start their season off against Aaron Nola and the Philadelphia Phillies. Bryce Harper and the Phillies may have been given a gift to start against the down trodden Marlins and look to get out of the blocks fast in the sprint of a season. Miami didn't have a lot of positive stats in 2019, and Joe looks at a few of those in capping this game.
Perhaps no sport benefitted more than the UFC over the past few months. They gained a lot of new fans and bettors and now they'll try keep those on the sport. UFC Fight Island in Abu Dhabi keeps on rolling with another fight night. Joe has a bet for the Main Event in this one with Robert Whittaker squaring off against Darren Till. Whittaker is coming off a Middleweight title loss to Israel Adesanya and is the favorite in this fight. Whittaker lands more significant strikes (per 15:00) and has a better takedown percent than Till. Joe sees a lot of value in this fight.
Ninja gets his picks started in MLB with the Arizona Diamondbacks’ debut of Madison Bumgarner against Chris Paddack and the San Diego Padres. These two NL West teams have been chosen by a few analysts as "sleepers" or "surprise teams" of 2020. One question that will follow the Padres this season is, how are they going to get runs? Ninja is looking at the total in this game, which sits at 8.
As we switch gears and head to the pitch, Ninja has a bet as Arsenal host Watford. Arsenal are staring at their worst Premier League finish since the 1994/95 season but their opponent is facing relegation. With nothing to play for, Watford could lay a stinker on the road as Arsenal try to close out their campaign in fashion in home. Ninja is looking at a plus-money goal total in this match.
With two picks on the show, Harry Gagnon starts off in MLB. The promising Cincinnati Reds trot out Sonny Gray for their Sportsbook day start against one of the worst teams in MLB, the Detroit Tigers. There is a lot of hope surrounding the Reds this season in the NL Central. The addition of Mike Moustakas adds a nice bat to the middle of the lineup, which complements a solid pitching rotation.
