A full cast of Guys & Bets is on! With over 50 games on the docket over the next three days, Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery, Iain MacMillan and Harry Gagnon get you set for all of it.
The NBA and NHL are gearing up for playoffs with their returns, and MLB is entering its second week of play. Yes, sports are back and the guys will have you prepped to pocket a little extra cash.
We start in the NBA with Joe’s bread and butter: first-quarter plays. The Houston Rockets take on the Dallas Mavericks in one of the marquee matchups of the Sportsbook weekend. Luka Doncic has been one of the more dominant players in the Association this season, and looks to be a true breakout superstar. James Harden, Russell Westbrook and the rest of the Rockets will have their hands full in this all-Texas matchup. This game has the potential to be a high-scoring game, as the total sits at 229.
Staying with the NBA, the Orlando Magic face the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets will be without Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant as the return of the NBA tips off. The Magic ended the truncated NBA season on quite a streak for OVER/UNDER bettors, and Joe will tell you just how impressive that streak was as it figures into capping this game.
Joe wraps up his picks with an F5 bet in MLB. The Cincinnati Reds have been a little slow out of the gate, but a series with the Detroit Tigers could change all that. Mike Moustakas is back in the lineup and his bat has had an impact on the middle of the order for the Reds. Pitching seems to be an issue for the Tigers, and that could be just what the Reds need.
The FA Cup takes center stage in the soccer world this weekend with Arsenal taking the pitch against Chelsea in the final. Ninja is looking at a goal total for this match. These squads have a lot of familiarity with each other, and an ability to beat the opposing keeper. Chelsea finished 10 points clear of Arsenal in Premier League play, and Arsenal faces an immense amount of pressure. If Arsenal fails to win, they won’t have any European competition this season. So if you’re betting a side, keep that in mind, but for now, it’s all about an OVER/UNDER bet.
Ninja moves on to MLB for his next pick. This could be a new Guys & Bets darling pick. The San Diego Padres are in the Mile High City to take on the Colorado Rockies. Both squads are off to a good start in the 2020 MLB campaign and with Coors Field providing a launching pad, this one could be fun. The Padres bullpen has done a good job getting them through games and will certainly be tested in these conditions. Fernando Tatis looks every bit the part of a future MLB star in just his second season. It’s a moneyline bet for this game for Ninja.
The much-anticipated return of Iain MacMillan to the Guys & Bets program has the young capper looking at the NHL. Iain will be the first to tell you that he loves to bet underdogs and the dogs will be barking with his selection. There are a lot of unknowns in the NHL play-in series, but there is some quality info to go on from a betting perspective.
Harry Gagnon has two picks lined up and both are for the NHL. His first pick is for a round-robin game between the Colorado Avalanche and the defending Stanley Cup champions, the St. Louis Blues. Nathan MacKinnon has elevated his game to another level as his explosiveness has taken off. He can dominate games on his own, and we saw what the top line for the Avs can do when they’re healthy. St. Louis could have a tough time keeping up, but the Blues will grind a team down.
Finally, Harry likes a bet for the Toronto Maple Leafs vs the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Leafs have the added bonus of being at their home confines for the play-in games and potentially further as well. There is no question the Leafs have the edge in star power for this game and the best-of-five series. While looking at totals could be a good option as the series moves along, Harry has a wager on an outright Sportsbook.
