Guys & Bets (Episode 29): NFL Week 16, New Year’s Day Bowl Rapid Fire, Jon Anik and NBA Quick Picks

In the last episode of Guys & Bets before Christmas, Jonny OddsShark and Andrew Avery deliver you the usual gift of doing your football handicapping for you.

The guys get right into it with the NFL and wonder if Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns are worth a bet again this week when they host the Cincinnati Bengals. Next up, the guys head to California to cap the Chicago Bears’ visit to the San Francisco 49ers, who have actually been covering spreads and winning football games at home recently. Finally, it’s off to Seattle as the Seahawks host the Kansas City Chiefs in a battle of prime-time ATS machines.

As for college football, the guys fast-forward to January 1 to cover the New Year’s Day bowl slate, which is a good one as Mississippi State faces Iowa in the Outback Bowl, LSU plays UCF in the Fiesta Bowl, Kentucky meets Penn State in the Citrus Bowl, Washington battles Ohio State in the Rose Bowl and Texas plays Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.

Way back in Week 1 of the NFL season, the guys talked to Jon Anik. Since then, Jon has climbed to contention in the Super Contest and looks to continue his excellent capping season. The guys talk about how he’s done, the Patriots’ chances to win the Super Bowl, the “must-win” factor and who he likes in Week 16.

Finally, your boy Gilles Gallant chimes in with some picks from Thursday’s NBA board with this week’s NBA Quick Picks segment.
