A big Wednesday edition of Guys & Bets as Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery and Iain MacMillan have a slate of bets ready to go.
We’ve got a big matchup in the NBA’s Eastern Conference with the Toronto Raptors on the road to take on the Miami Heat. The Heat look to be slowly turning the corner on their season. After being injury-riddled through most of their first 31 games, they’ve rattled off three straight wins for the second time this season. The Raptors, meanwhile, have put their early-season struggles behind them and sit in the fifth spot in the East. Joe is looking at the total as these two stingy defensive teams take the court.
Time for an NBA player prop now and Joe is looking at Zach LaVine’s total points as the Chicago Bulls host the Minnesota Timberwolves. Fresh off the announcement that LaVine will make his first appearance as an NBA all-star, he gets a shot at his former team. He’s clearly been a stud thus far for the Bulls, who sit eighth in the Eastern Conference.
Joe was betting on James Harden to hit OVER 3.5 treys yesterday and that hit, so he has found another good spot to hit an OVER on three-pointers made. The Boston Celtics face the Atlanta Hawks, a team that hasn’t lived up to the preseason hype at all so far. The Hawks struggle defending the three, and this player Joe is betting on has shown a propensity to make this number lately.
In Champions League play, it’s the first competitive match between Real Madrid and Atalanta. What a time for it! It’s the first leg of their Round of 16 match and Madrid comes into it a little nicked up. The Italian squad is a staple of Champions League knockout-stage play, having advanced to this stage for the 24th consecutive time. Atalanta isn’t an easy out by any means. This team can play dynamic soccer and is in exciting form.
In one of the biggest mismatches on the pitch, Barcelona hosts Elche. This one shouldn’t even be close. There really isn’t much else to say about the teams. But here’s the fun part. To make some money on a game like this, simply picking Barcelona to win or -1.5, -2 isn’t enough. Soccer has a lot of unique bets, and Ninja found a solid spot to wager on Barcelona.
In college hoops, Tennessee is on the road to take on Vanderbilt and that’s where Iain is going for his bet. The Volunteers come into this game at 15-6 while the Commodores sit at 6-12. There’s a familiar name on Vanderbilt, as Scotty Pippen Jr. leads the way for the Commodores, averaging 20.5 points per game. He will face a tough Tennessee defense that allows 62.7 points per game, which is 18th-lowest in Division I.
Over to golf and a stop this week at the Concession Golf Club for the WGC-Workday Championship. Iain is looking at a plus-money bet for a sneaky-hot golfer from the European Tour. His stats match up quite well for what’s required to play Concession at a high level, and the price is bang on as well.
