It’s Friday and Joe, Ninja and Iain have picks lined up for some college basketball, NHL, NBA All-Star Weekend and much more!
On the ice we have the Colorado Avalanche visiting the Anaheim Ducks. This game has one of the hottest betting trends in the NHL and that’s where Joe is going for his bet. Philipp Grubauer is quietly putting together a really solid season between the pipes for the Avs. He’s third in the league with a GAA of 2.07, along with a .920 save percentage and three shutouts. On the other side, the Ducks have their own scoring issues to deal with and sit dead last in the NHL with an average of two goals per game.
Over in college basketball, Joe found a nice total in the game featuring the New Mexico State Aggies and the Dixie State Trailblazers. If you’re not watching this game, do you even like college basketball?!?! I have nothing more to add here because I just found out Dixie State was a thing.
NBA All-Star Weekend, or All-Star Sunday, is upon us and the Three-Point Contest is loaded with stars. There is one player who stands out for Joe in this contest. The player has great value in this spot and is entering the shootout as one of the hottest three-point shooters in the Association. This is a big plus-money bet.
On the pitch in England, we have Arsenal taking on Burnley. It’s been a tough season for the Clarets as they find themselves sitting in 15th spot in the Premier League. Arsenal is coming off a big 3-1 win over Leicester City and has been finding its form in attack lately. Burnley has struggled offensively, managing only 19 goals this season, which is the second-lowest in the Prem. Ninja is looking at a plus-money bet for this game.
In Serie A, we have Udinese and Sassuolo matching up. When looking at xG and xGA, these two clubs rank very highly in one of those categories, which is partly why Ninja is looking at the total here.
It’s conference tourney time in college hoops and Iain has a pick for a Southern Conference game between the Western Carolina Catamounts and The Citadel Bulldogs. The Catamounts come into this game as small faves but have a losing record as they finished 11-16. The Bulldogs went 12-11 and were led by junior guard Hayden Brown, who put up 19 points and 10.5 boards while shooting 50.5 percent from the floor.
In other college basketball action, Valparaiso takes on the Missouri State Bears. The Bears find themselves as favorites here as Valpo finished the season at a measly 1-17. The Bears were 16-6 and finished strong, going 7-1 in their last eight games. Isiaih Mosley was a force for Missouri State this season and was even better against Valparaiso, pouring in 29 points to go along with seven boards and four dimes when the Bears topped the Crusaders 78-68 on January 10.
