The guys put together a nice betting slate for today’s show with an ATS, a total and a player prop for the NBA along with a plus-money NHL bet and a pick for the Masters.
We have an NBA showdown in the Western Conference with the top two teams squaring off. Utah sits 2.5 games ahead of Phoenix for the top spot, but the Suns are coming in hot, having won six in a row. These two squads are both excellent on the defensive side of the ball as Utah allows the third-fewest points per game at 107.2, while Phoenix checks in with the fifth-fewest at 107.7. Joe is looking at the spread for his bet on this game.
Staying in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets host the San Antonio Spurs in a matchup of two teams going in opposite directions. The Nuggets come in having won six straight, while averaging 119 points in those contests. That’s above their season average of 115.7. The Spurs, on the other hand, just can’t seem to get it together for a run since the all-star break. They’ve dropped four straight and eight of their last 10 games, including a 24-point loss to the lowly Cavaliers on Monday. Joe is betting on the total in this game.
Also on the hardwood, we have the New York Knicks in Boston to face the Celtics. These two teams are both 25-26 and occupy the seventh and eighth spots in the Eastern Conference, so this game looms large. Joe is looking at a player prop for his bet and, more specifically, one for Reggie Bullock. He’s certainly not lacking for confidence or belief in his team, as he recently said the Knicks have a “big five” when asked about playing the Nets’ big three. He backed that up by dropping 21 points, including five three-pointers, against Brooklyn.
It’s the greatest week in golf – Masters Week. Iain has a writeup on the Odds Shark site with a full breakdown of his picks, including a tournament Sportsbook and long shots. For the show, though, he’s betting on a head-to-head between Daniel Berger and Tony Finau. Berger has been one of the more consistent players on the tour in 2021, winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and finishing in the top 10 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the Players Championship. Finau, on the other hand, always seems to be in the mix but hasn’t been able to really get over the hump.
On the ice tonight, the Minnesota Wild host the Colorado Avalanche. These two teams played against each other on March 18 and 20, with the Avs winning both games by a combined score of 11-1. Colorado has won six of its last seven games and sits atop the West Division with 56 points. Minnesota finds itself in third place in the West Division with 48 points. The Wild are 13-4 at home, while Colorado is 9-4-2 on the road. Iain has a plus-money bet for this game.
