NBA, MLB & Champions League Picks for May 5, 2021 | Odds Shark’s Guys & Bets (Episode 338)

We have a large show on tap today as Joe and Ninja talk about their favorite bets from Wednesday’s board across MLB, NBA and Champions League.

We head to the diamond to start the show as Joe is looking at a moneyline bet with the Cleveland Indians in K.C. to take on the Royals. Cleveland trots out ace Shane Bieber, who is 3-2 with a 0.99 WHIP and has rung up 68 batters thus far. The Indians have won seven of their last nine, including the first two games of this four-game series with the Royals.

Next for Joe is a National League matchup as the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are on a six-game road trip, face the San Diego Padres. The Pirates took the second game of this three-game set by a score of 2-1 yesterday. The Pirates were almost their own worst enemy as they went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position in that win. In the two games so far, the teams have combined for five runs.

In the NBA, the Washington Wizards have put together a 13-3 run to play themselves right into the play-in situation in the Eastern Conference. We’re starting to see what the Wizards look like now that Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal are healthy and have figured out how to thrive on the court at the same time. They’ll have their hands full tonight as they’re on the road against a Bucks team fresh off two straight wins over Brooklyn. Joe has a bet against the spread in this game.

The Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners were two nice stories to start the MLB season, and today they play the rubber match of their three-game series. The O’s look to have the edge among the starting pitchers today as they send John Means to the bump while the M’s counter with Yusei Kikuchi. Also, keep an eye on Baltimore’s Freddy Galvis today as he’s riding a seven-game hitting streak. Ninja is looking at a moneyline play in this game.

Chelsea vs Real Madrid, second leg of their Champions League semifinal, 1-1 on aggregate. What a game this is shaping up to be! You knew your boy Ninja wouldn’t leave you hanging as he has a bet for this second-leg fixture at Stamford Bridge.
