With the draw set for Wednesday afternoon, Orb appears set to be an even odds favorite on most Preakness Stakes betting menus.
The Kentucky Derby Sportsbook was listed at 1-1 odds at several online racebooks, who seem to feel he can win easily with a small field missing some top talent.
New runner Departing was made the second betting choice at Sportsbook at 5-1. Departing didn’t run in the Kentucky Derby, but won the Illinois Derby on April 20 with a fast time.

A field of nine is expected to be announced today, much less than the maximum 14 horses allowed at the Preakness Stakes. Does a wide-open track make it easier for Orb to repeat his Derby trip?
He ran third to Revolutionary and Mylute in the Louisiana Derby in March and both of those two horses ran in the Kentucky Derby. Departing's style is to stalk the early pace which could set up a sprint with Orb in the shorter Preakness Stakes. It is 1/16 of a mile shorter than the Derby at 1 3/16.
Goldencents is next at 7-1, while Derby runners Itsmyluckyday and Mylute are next at 9-1.
