It's a new day, so that means another MLB same-game parlay. And for this lovely Friday, we're heading to Flushing Meadows for a matchup between the Astros and Mets.
Here are three legs for my Astros vs Mets same-game parlay:
Astros vs Mets Same-Game Parlay: June 28th
The Game: Astros vs Mets - 7:10 p.m. ET
Bet | Odds |
---|---|
JD Martinez OVER 0.5 Total Bases | -180 |
Jose Altuve UNDER 1.5 Total Bases | -155 |
Astros ML | -110 |
Overall | +550 |
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: martinez OVER 0.5 total bases
This is a quick and easy first leg for our SGP. Martinez is 0-for-3 against Blanco, but that's not enough of a sample size to race to conclusions.
In better news: Martinez has hit the OVER on this prop in 12 of his last 15 (80%) and in five straight games. The designated hitter owns a .321 BA and 1.049 OPS in his last 56 plate appearances. And, as a perfect touch, opponents are slugging .412 on Blanco's fastball. Martinez is a heater masher, batting .319 and slugging .702 on that pitch this season.
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Altuve UNDER 1.5 Total Bases
Let's get weird with this one. While I don't often recommend fading star players, Altuve's track record offers a brief window of opportunity for total bases fade.
It's not personal, Jose, you just can't hit today's starter. Mets lefty Jose Quintana has been better lately, pitching at least six innings in his last two starts. He's also 5-for-27 (.185 BA) lifetime vs Quintana, with 10 strikeouts. I really wanted to play Quintana's strikeout OVERs today, too, but Houston owns baseball's lowest K rate, so balls will be put in play.
Moving back to Altuve, the second baseman has seen his total bases go UNDER 1.5 in 66% of contests this season and in six of his last seven games vs the Mets. I like the Quintana vs Astros, just not to the point I'm playing Quintana props. I'd much rather fade Altuve and call it a day.
Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Astros ML
Martinez might get a hit and Quintana might shut down Altuve, but the Astros will emerge victorious in this contest, and they can thank their shining star on the mound for that.
Blanco is a superstar in Houston these days, as the 'Stros battle to get back in playoff contention with a rotation pieced together with glue and duct tape. Get this, though: opponents are batting .105 with a .429 OPS in Blanco's last three starts (0.90 ERA). The Astros have won each of those games. On the season, Houston is 11-3 SU when Blanco pitches. Those are some tasty trends, and I'll happily add the Astros ML at pick'em odds to our same-game parlay.
