Braves vs Phillies Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Sportsbook Odds

The Braves opened as the road favorite once again at -141 on the moneyline while the Phillies are getting +105 at home. The total was set at 8.5 runs with the UNDER going 4-2 in the last six meetings between the two clubs. Philadelphia has won five of the last six meetings at home, suggesting that you may want to side with the hosts in your Braves vs Phillies prediction.

Starting Pitchers

Bailey Falter (5-3) last started on September 18, also against the Braves, when he took a no-decision after scattering four hits and one earned run over 4.2 innings. The left-hander owns a 3.68 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP in 73.1 innings this season.

Kyle Wright (19-5) can become the first pitcher to reach 20 wins this season when he takes the mound for Atlanta on Saturday. The right-hander won his last outing against the Washington Nationals on September 19 after allowing eight hits and two earned runs over six innings. Wright has a 3.18 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP through 170 innings.

Braves’ Offense Comes Up Empty Again

The Braves fell for the second straight game to the Phillies on Friday, this time losing 9-1. Robbie Grossman drove Atlanta’s only run of the game in during the seventh on a sac fly, while Jake Odorizzi was rocked for 10 hits and eight earned runs over just four innings.

Atlanta’s offense has dried up over its three-game skid as the Braves have scored just three runs over that span. Michael Harris II, who leads the club with 14 RBIs in September, has no RBIs over his last four contests and just one in his last seven games.

Hoskins Drives In Four Runs As Phillies Win Again

The bats came alive for the Phillies on Friday as Rhys Hoskins led the way with three hits and four RBIs in a blowout win. Hoskins hit a two-RBI double in the second and then a two-run homer in the fourth while starter Aaron Nola pitched six scoreless innings for the victory.

The Phillies have been quite streaky in September as they’re now on a three-game run following a five-game losing skid and a five-game win streak. Unlike his club, J.T. Realmuto has been consistent this month with a whopping seven home runs and 14 RBIs.

Braves Player Prop: Wright OVER 6 K’s (+132)

Wright hasn’t been a strikeout machine this season but he is averaging nearly a K per inning. The right-hander had seven punchouts in his last appearance and has had six or more in four of his last six starts. If he pitches into the sixth inning, he should get to six K’s again.

Phillies Player Prop: Realmuto OVER 2 Hits (+290)

Realmuto comes into Saturday’s matchup on a five-game hit streak with 10 hits over that span. You can bet on him to get one hit at -195 but the real moneymaker is two hits at +290.

Braves vs Phillies Picks & Insights

Braves: Keys To Win

Nothing went right for the Braves on Friday as both the bats and pitching let them down. Luckily Wright is on the mound for Saturday’s matchup and if anyone can correct the course, it’s him. The right-hander enters the contest on a seven-game unbeaten streak, but he’ll likely need more than one run of support to win.

Phillies: Keys To Win

The Phillies got a rare offensive outburst on Friday as they scored more than five runs for just the fifth time this month. If they’re going to beat Atlanta again, they’ll need a strong start from Falter, who will somehow need to keep up with Wright.
