Blue Jays vs A's Notable Players To Watch
DH Brent Rooker (OAK): The A's designated hitter has been a monster since May 1, smashing seven homers alongside a .391 OBP. He is a good prop bet tonight at OVER 1.5 total bases.
Vladdy Guerrero Jr. (TOR): Guerrero transformed into a contact hitter for a hot minute, but now the power has returned. While it's hard to homer in Oakland, Vladdy has two homers in his last four games with a .786 SLG.
Blue Jays vs A's Preview & Expert Pick — Blue Jays ML (-135)
Even in their messy state, the Blue Jays are worth a ML pick at -135 odds, especially against Oakland. The A's are no slouch anymore, but this game doesn't deserve to be a near pick 'em contest.
Toronto is near the bottom of baseball in OPS vs LHPs, which isn't ideal for the club's matchup vs lefty Hogan Harris. That said, Vladdy owns an .822 OPS vs lefties (securing my OVER total bases prop bet on him) and even Justin Turner can chip in. Turner has a .941 OPS vs LHPs this year and he's been hotter at the plate lately, too.
I like the Jays ML, and you can even parlay it with Vladdy OVER 1.5 total bases at +140.

Blue jays vs A's Preview & Expert Pick No. 2 — UNDER 8.0 runs (-120)
I teetered on this bet. I'm anticipating a big offensive day for the Jays, and Toronto's starter Chris Bassitt hasn't always had the cleanest outings this season. But, kids, "The Bassett Hound" likes pitching at his old home in Oakland.
Bassitt spent six years in Oakland earlier in his career and he owns a remarkable 2.39 ERA at Oakland Coliseum. It's no small sample size either; Bassitt pitched 274.1 innings in Oakland, allowing only 220 hits and striking out 251 batters. And now he returns home.
My prediction: Bassitt goes seven full innings and allows three runs or fewer. That's good for our UNDER.
