Blue Jays vs Tigers Notable Players To Watch

SP Alek Manoah (TOR): The big boy is back! Toronto's hefty right-hander has turned a corner in his last two starts, spinning 14 scoreless innings and holding opponents to a .106 BA.

2B Colt Keith (DET): After a dismal start to the year, Keith is raking. The rookie is batting .405 with a .908 OPS over his last 13 games.

Blue Jays vs Tigers Preview & Expert Pick — uNDER 8.5 Runs (-115)

There's something in Manoah's eyes that tells me he's back. The Florida native is a ball of fire on the mound, leaping, cussing, and flexing his way to 14 scoreless frames in a row.

Jays manager John Schneider suggested this is the best version of Manoah he's ever seen. One more good start and I might agree. The UNDER 8.5 runs is the play, as Detroit has generated just a .674 team OPS over the last two weeks. Manoah will mow 'em down. Perhaps he won't shut the Tigers out, but runs will be hard to come by.

Blue Jays vs Tigers Preview & Expert Pick No. 2 — Blue Jays ML (-120)

I won't repeat myself much, but I like Manoah in this matchup. While he hasn't completely exercised his demons from last year, things are trending upward.

Beyond Manoah, though, Toronto's studs are hitting again. Bo Bichette, for example, owns a 1.049 OPS (and .609 SLG) over his last two weeks, while Vladdy Guerrero Jr. (.972 OPS) and Danny Jansen (1.045 OPS) offer some lineup protection.

Keep an eye out for George Springer, too. He's been awful this season, but he is 1-for-3 lifetime vs Tigers starter Matt Manning with a solo homer. I don't hate his OVER 1.5 total bases at +125.
