Dodgers vs Padres Same-Game Parlay Today: +350 Value

My MLB same-game parlay today features three legs on the Dodgers vs Padres game. I'm betting Clayton Kershaw builds off an excellent first start, while Dylan Cease, fresh off a no-hitter, also keeps the Dodgers in check.

Dodgers vs Padres Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Kershaw oVER 3.5 Strikeouts

I really wanted to play the UNDER on this prop, as Kershaw owns just a 19% strikeout rate vs active Padres hitters. That said, 3.5 is such a damn low total that it's impossible not to play the OVER, especially after Kershaw soared past it with six strikeouts in his last start.

Last week, Kershaw wasn't fantastic (4 IP, 6 H, 2 ER), but he logged the necessary innings to hit our strikeout OVER. That's the only way to the OVER this time around, because, like I mentioned, the Padres don't K all that much against him. But that does not mean Kershaw fares poorly against San Diego.

Active Padres are slashing a pedestrian .259/.308/.437 in 158 at-bats vs Kershaw. That's not threatening at all, so I'll bet Kershaw works at least four innings today.

Dodgers vs Padres Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Cease OVER 17.5 outs

This is an easy play for me, even at -210. Cease is of course coming off a no-hitter in his last start, so he pitched all 27 outs. Beyond that, though, he's been reliable, cashing the OVER 17.5 outs in 15 of 22 starts (68%).

Cease is also buoyed by an excellent track record vs Dodgers hitters, who have slashed just .208/.287/.375 vs the right-hander in 72 at-bats.

I'm most confident in this leg.

Dodgers vs Padres Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Padres ML

The Padres are cooking lately (8-2 SU in last 10) and made a big splash at the trade deadline, adding closer Tanner Scott to fortify their bullpen. Additionally, the Padres' -130 odds in this contest are a steal, as the Friars are 16-6 SU in games started by Cease.

I like the ML odds as the final leg of our SGP.
