MLB Expert Picks For Today: Take The Red-Hot Padres

I nailed a +170 underdog in the Rockies yesterday, getting a long-shot winner in my MLB expert picks. So, I'm going back to two plus-money selections for Wednesday's slate.

With two runline picks headlining the card, here are my two MLB expert picks for June 11th, 2024:

Pick 1: Padres -1.5 (+112) vs Athletics

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 4:11 pm ET

Don't look now, but the Padres are on a bit of a sneaky run lately. San Diego is 4-1 in their last five games averaging a 6.25 average margin of victory. That's coming largely on the back of some great hitting, as the Padres own baseball's second-best team OPS over the last two weeks (.824) with 70 runs in their last 14 games.

Now, they face an Athletics squad that falls on the exact opposite side of the offensive spectrum. The A's haven't scored over four runs in a game since June 1st, posting the second-worst team OPS in the last two weeks (.596).

I'd already be backing the Padres simply off that offensive advantage, but they also have Mike King (3.58 ERA) going against Hobbie Harris ( (5.12 ERA) tonight. King has allowed just two total earned runs in his last three starts. The Padres have covered the -1.5 runline in each of King's last three outings.

Pick 2: Dodgers -1.5 (+116) vs Rangers

Matchup Preview - Game Time: 10:11 pm ET

So, you know how I mentioned that the Padres were the second-hottest offense in baseball? Well, the Dodgers are the first. In the last two weeks (13 games) the Dodgers are hitting .279 as a team with an .860 collective OPS. They're averaging 5.8 runs per game. The Rangers, conversely, rank 20th in team OPS over that stretch.

And, crucially, the Dodgers have the pleasure of facing Jon Gray in tonight's Dodgers vs Rockies matchup. In 93 career at-bats against Gray, current Dodgers hitters have a .874 OPS with 25 hits and 15 walks. Gray's team has lost the last two times he faced the Dodgers.
