Game 4 is always a pivotal one as a team can tie the baseball betting series or fall behind 3-1.  It is likely to be a battle of the fourth starters and that means Joe Blanton for the Phillies against Madison Bumgarner for the Giants.

Giants vs Phillies Game 4 NLCS Odds - SF -110 favorites in Game 4 at Bovada with the total at 7.5 Flat.

Blanton had a decent record this MLB betting season of 9-6 but his ERA was very hight at 4.82.  Bumgarner was just 7-6 on the seasons but his ERA was very good at 3.00. Blanton has not started a game since late September while Bumgarner pitched in the NLDS and allowed two runs in six innings against the Braves.

Manager Bruce Bochy said that Bumgarner was going to get the start regardless of what happened in Game 3.  Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel was not quite as committed to Blanton but it seems unlikely he will bring back Roy Halladay on short rest because then he would be forced to do the same thing with Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels.

The Phillies are 27-11 in their last 38 Wednesday games. The Phillies are 19-8 in their last 27 game 4’s of a series.  The Phillies are 4-0 in Blanton’s last 4 road starts.
