MLB HR Props June 5th

MLB Home Run Props Today: Back Mountcastle

After nailing one of my long-shot homer picks on Monday, I took a step back with an 0/2 day in my MLB homer props yesterday. So, let's get back on the horse.

We've got plenty of interesting matchups tonight, but I'm honing in on Ryan Mountcastle and Juan Soto for my two home run prop picks for June 5th:

Pick 1: Ryan Mountcastle To Homer (+550)

Orioles vs Blue Jays Matchup Preview - Game Time: 7:07 pm ET

Most of Baltimore's lineup has success against Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios, with Ryan O'Hearn, James McCann, and Adley Rutschman all posting career OPS above .940 against Berrios. But, today's play is Mountcastle as the 1B/OF has two homers in 19 career at-bats against the Toronto hurler.

Mountcastle hit two homers in a win over Toronto on Tuesday and that's kind of the norm for him against the Blue Jays. The 27-year-old has 17 career homers against the Blue Jays, including eight at Toronto's Rogers Centre.

Mountcastle has 10 homers on the season this year and the Orioles are 6-2 in games where he's gone yard. So, I don't hate a Mountcastle homer bet parlayed with an Orioles win.

Pick 2: Juan Soto To Homer (+240)

Twins vs Yankees Matchup Preview - Game Time: 7:05 pm ET

I took Soto to homer last night and I'm going right back to the Yankee slugger today.

The 25-year-old outfielder is on a huge hot streak, raising his average to .319 and bashing four homers in his last 10 games. But, most importantly, Soto faces Twins righty Chris Paddack today, who has plenty of homer potential. Paddack has allowed six homers in his last five starts and has given up 11 dingers on hte season. The starter has a career 1.5 HR/9, which is well above MLB average.

Soto also owns Paddack in a limited sample against each other, knocking three hits and two homers in six career at-bats against the starter. I thought about going to Aaron Judge or a value pick like Gleyber Torres for this fade of Paddack, but neither of those Yankee sluggers has a career homer against Paddack.
