Royals vs Angels Betting Odds June 6

Will Kennedy continue to be a nightmare on the road vs Angels?

Kansas City Royals pitcher Ian Kennedy has had a season from hell. Coming off a start in which he allowed seven hits and eight earned runs, the former 20-game Sportsbook has not been a solid bet this season and could be fade material vs the Los Angeles Angels tonight. The Royals have dropped nine of the 12 games he has appeared in this season and Kennedy owns a 7.01 ERA in five road starts. He’ll be in tough to get a win at Angel Stadium as the Royals opened as a +230 dog to knock off Los Angeles and his counterpart, Shohei Ohtani.

SHARK BITES
  • The total has gone UNDER in three of the Royals’ last four games on the road.
  • The Angels are 4-1 SU in their last five games with Shohei Ohtani as the starting pitcher.
  • The Angels are 4-2 ATS in their last six games at home.

Kennedy’s woes have been an ongoing trend for a while now as the righty has allowed 29 earned runs in his past five starts (23.2 innings) and his downturn has been evident since last season when he finished with a 5.38 ERA. And it’s not like the Royals batting order is doing its part to bail him out as Kansas City hitters are only managing 2.92 runs per game when he takes the mound. When you factor in that the Royals have lost five straight games vs the Angels by a run margin of 27-14, the Angels runline becomes more appealing at -120.

Shohei Ohtani may not have as many starts as a regular rotation pitcher but he’s been solid in his four home starts this season with a 2.35 ERA and 0.83 WHIP. Ohtani is coming off a decent showing vs the Tigers last week that was interrupted by a rain delay so he’ll be licking his chops to mow down the Royals batting order that is 27th in runs scored this season (3.97 runs per game). With the Angels at 7-3 SU in the last 10 games when closing out a series, bettors should be all over Los Angeles tonight.

The total opened at 8 and the UNDER may be the profitable angle in this tilt as the UNDER has hit in five of the Angels’ last six games at home with an average combined score of 6.33 runs per game.
